ON THE ROAD, ALL DAY LONG…

It's quite a family! Road racing includes all running disciplines on paved surfaces, with a few exceptions (like certain Olympic events 🏆 held in stadiums). Most events are long-distance or ultra-distance races 🛣️.

Whether you're more of a corrida, 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon, marathon or even 100 km, road racing has won the hearts of millions of enthusiasts worldwide 🗺️. This discipline has transcended the ages ⏳, from antiquity to today 🗓️, offering runners, both amateurs and professionals, the opportunity to surpass themselves and live their passion 🌟. Children, men, women, young or not-so-young, there's something for every taste 🍓, every style, and every atmosphere! 🎊 A complete discipline working all the muscles of the body and offering numerous psychological benefits 💆, running is an integral part of the lives of many French people 🇫🇷.

Road racing 🛣️ is an adventure through varied landscapes 🏞️. It allows you, for instance, to visit the center of some major cities 🏙️, like during the Vredestein 20 km of Paris, the Lille Citadelle Race, the Marvejols-Mende or the Ekiden of Toulouse. Alternatively, it also offers the opportunity to run along the seaside🏝️, as with the 20 km of the Pink Granite Coast 🌊, the O2 the Air Runs, the Bastia Rose Relay or The Pyramids at La Grande Motte. Although road races often take place on flat terrain, some events like the Mont-Ventoux Half-Marathon 🏔 and the Ronde des Grangeons offer more hilly courses 📈.

There are even night races 🌙, such as the Puyricard Nocturne, the Roazhon Run, the Bourges Races and the Blue Bridges Night Round. Every road race has its own identity! Some are city-to-city routes like the Paris-Versailles 🏙️ and others are more festive, like the Beaujolais International Marathon, which invites its participants to dress up. Competitions take place all year round. You'll always find an event that suits you.

Whatever your favorite distance ❤️, great seriousness must be devoted to your preparation. Muscle injuries 🦵, knee problems, and other tendinitis can be prevented by training regularly, stretching, hydrating properly 🍶 and paying particular attention to equipment choices (shoes suitable for the road, hydration packs… 💧).

There is no reason you won't fall in love with this sport. You'll see: to try is to adopt 🌟.

So, shall we meet at noon for a little jog? 🏃
