Diagonale des fous 2026 Results

The Diagonale des Fous isn’t just one race! Each year, the organization behind the Grand Raid de La Réunion puts on a true trail festival on the island: four days of events, five races in total, from the Métis Trail for runners looking for their first big adventure to the Diagonale des Fous for the international elite, bringing together the world’s best trail runners and enthusiasts of all levels. Over the weekend, runners travel across the island, between the cirques of Mafate, Salazie, and the slopes of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano ⛰️. Created in 1989, the Diagonale des Fous has established itself as the autumn pilgrimage of trail running on Réunion, bringing together nearly 8,000 runners from all over the world each year across all Grand Raid events. The Zembrocal Trail (160 km and 8,460 mD+, run as a four-person relay) kicks things off, followed a few hours later by the legendary 180 km and 10,200 mD+ route of the Diagonale des Fous, then the Trail de Bourbon (106 km and 6,200 mD+), the Mascareignes (74 km and 3,800 mD+), and the Métis Trail (51 km and 2,500 mD+), all the way to a shared finish at the Stade de la Redoute in Saint-Denis.
