Morvan is a low mountain area located in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. A territory full of relief where it's nice to live despite the weather!

In the Northeast of the Central Massif, Morvan stretches its hills and basins over more than 5,000 square kilometers. This area is covered with forests and crisscrossed by rivers. Since 1970, the Morvan Regional Nature Park has been contributing to the preservation of Morvan's natural environments. Hiking enthusiasts can find the GR 13 hiking trail there, which connects Fontainebleau to Morvan. The mountains ⛰ are low but numerous. Haut-Folin, at 901 meters, is the highest peak in Morvan. The towns surrounding Morvan? You will find Auxerre to the North, Mâcon to the south, Nevers to the west, and Dijon to the east. Enough to discover the charms of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are typical grape varieties of this region. Besides wines 🍷, it's said that you eat well in Morvan! The famous Burgundy snails 🐌 are not far... Numerous castles also dot this region, like Château de Bazoches for example! You've understood, Morvan is a very beautiful area that holds cultural and natural treasures. So what about running in Morvan? Obviously, with such natural assets, trail running finds its place. Nature running enthusiasts can already note the Morvan Oxygen trail starting from Château-Chinon. The organizers have even planned a night race for those who want to experience the mystery of Morvan... The Vallon Trail takes you to the heart of Yonne, in the charming town of Avallon. A definitely dynamic city, also hosting the Trailwalker Oxfam Avallon race. A beautiful solidarity walk of 100 km to be completed in a team, aiming to fund international solidarity actions by Oxfam against poverty.
