Guess who has a date in the bicycle capital? 🚲
You! 🫵
We’re taking you on a full-speed spin through Northern Germany, where the peloton doesn’t mess around but the vibe is absolutely electric 🚴! Right in the heart of August, Hamburg opens its arms to you with the legendary ADAC Cyclassics 🇩🇪. Get ready to set your thighs on fire at this monument of German cycling 🏆. Forget the clichés about German strictness—here we’re talking about a true people’s festival that brings together thousands of fans of the little queen, from complete beginners to the top guns of the UCI WorldTour circuit 🌍. It’s the perfect chance to swap your usual jersey and slip into the skin of a legendary racer 🌟, all on fully closed roads to traffic—an absolute luxury for putting down the watts in total safety 🛡️.
The organizers have pulled out all the stops with meticulously designed routes that cleverly blend sporting ambition and breathtaking urban panoramas 🏙️. The peloton will have an absolute blast across the three formats on offer ⚡. If you’ve got a warrior’s soul and you’re ready to rack up the kilometers, the The Challenge 110 km route is waiting for you with its tough loop 🦾. It starts from HafenCity, crosses the Köhlbrand Bridge twice, heads towards Buxtehude, and features a solid climb up Rosengartenstraße before treating you to the brand-new double crossing of the Neue Elbbrücke 🌉. For those who prefer a gentler introduction without sacrificing the big thrill, the The Experience itinerary offers an ultra dynamic and accessible 60 km format 🤗, ideal for discovering the sectors of Schenefeld and Holm, Kösterberg, or the splendid Elbchaussee 🌊. Finally, for lovers of pure spectacle, the Elite 206 km route for professionals starts from Buxtehude and promises a hellish finish with five seriously tough passes on the dizzying 16% slopes of the Waseberg in Blankenese 🥵. Whatever option you choose, the finale always delivers a shot of pure adrenaline with a monumental finish on the famous Mönckebergstraße 🏁, the city’s main shopping artery, just a stone’s throw from the Town Hall and the Inner Alster 🌟.
But the adventure doesn’t stop once the bike is racked and the bib is picked up—quite the opposite 🍾. After crossing the finish line like a hero, what to do after the race 🧐? The Hanseatic city is packed with gems to recover and celebrate your feats properly 🍻. We strongly recommend wandering through the historic Speicherstadt district, the largest warehouse complex in the world, listed as a UNESCO site 🏛️, with its typical red bricks and romantic canals 💕. If your legs still allow it, a stroll along the Alster banks is a must to unwind in peace 🦆. And to recharge your batteries the local way, head to a traditional "Biergarten" to enjoy a well-deserved nice cold beer 🍺 and savor a delicious "Franzbrötchen", a kind of local cinnamon-and-butter croissant 🥐.
Germany is waiting pedal ready and raring for this challenge! 🚴
