The event in a few words
Are you ready to break new records? 🔥 How about a meeting in Germany 🇩🇪, not just any city though, but one fondly known as "the heart of Bavaria"! ❤️ Does that ring a bell? We're talking about the charming city of Altötting, nestled at the foot of the Alps in the Bavarian region 🏞️. So, what kind of event are we talking about? If we say 10 + 11 equals? 21! 👨🏫 It's the Altötting Half-Marathon awaiting you for a new edition this coming September! 🍁 Besides a wonderful half-marathon taking you through lush forests 🌲 and scenic nature trails 🍀, you can also sign up for a 6 km race 🏃♂️, which is also open to walkers! 🚶♀️ It's perfect if you're not yet ready to tackle half a marathon 🧘♂️, offering you a chance to participate in a race with a truly unique setting.
Why is this half-marathon so popular? 🤔 It's known for being fast! ⏱️ In fact, the latest records are: Best women's time 1h 08min 38 by Kenyan Agnes Kiprop. For the men, it's Kenyan Daniel Chebii with 1h 01min 39! 🇰🇪 Indeed, these trails are a gold record mine! 💰 The course is 80% on paths, letting you enjoy the coolness and shade of tall trees along the way! 🌬️ For parents wanting to bring their little ones 👩👧👦, don't expect them to just cheer on mom or dad! Oh no, they also get their moment of glory with a 1.1 km race! 🤠 And for the toddlers, a childcare service is available so you can run freely, knowing you'll be reunited with your little one afterward! 👶
After crossing the finish line, extend your stay by exploring the local wonders! 🥨 Visit the Marian shrine of Altötting, an iconic pilgrimage site 🙏. If you have a bit of time, take a detour to Burghausen to discover its impressive castle, the longest in the world 🏰. For a family outing, head to the Bavarian Forest National Park where young and old can enjoy nature and observe the local wildlife 🦌. And why not end your day with a relaxing visit to the Bad Füssing thermal baths? A well-deserved reward after all those efforts! 🛀
