"On the <a href="kavval://tags/1f600ff5-2860-411b-9c9b-1d0e6fe96e19" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">bridge of Avignon</a>, we dance, we dance..." Except&nbsp;now, we run there too! 🏃 And promise, you’ll feel much more like dancing after your race than before! 💃Yes, you read that right! 👀 The most famous city in the <a href="kavval://level2AdminAreas/89ffb081-1088-4bfa-9158-899f325320f3" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Vaucluse</a> is finally getting its own <a href="kavval://pages/390ac20f-6103-4b2e-930e-b570ed852fb1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">marathon</a> <a href="kavval://tags/d77fe708-04e5-481b-b70a-535bac5a9551" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">urban</a> 🎉. See you in <a href="kavval://cities/dc8c34c1-bee9-4743-b701-e65abc57eff8" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Avignon</a> in <a href="kavval://pages/5f31afb7-4d12-496d-9669-620a55537931" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">September</a> for a first edition that’s shaping up to be un-for-get-ta-ble! 🔥 The plan? A loop that guides you from the <a href="kavval://tags/d1195451-ebc8-465e-bbca-06c0ba466e8b" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Palais des Papes</a> 👑 to the banks of the Rhône, crossing narrow streets and the iconic <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pont_Saint-B%C3%A9n%C3%A9zet" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pont Saint-Bénézet</a> 🌉. And a very welcome bonus 🎁: running in September in Avignon is THE perfect moment ☀️. You’ll enjoy temperatures between 18 and 25°C 🌡️, that famous Provençal "golden hour" that lasts all day 🌅, and terraces still open for your post-marathon recovery 🥐.The organizers have promised: the route will be "smooth and accessible" 🙌. Translation? No crazy climbs that will turn your thighs into mush 🍖. But careful—accessible doesn’t mean boring! You’ll alternate between avenues, perfect for building your pace 🚀, and more technical sections in the <a href="kavval://tags/bd16213f-046f-45ed-bec8-4977e70ddc32" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">historic center</a> 🏛️, within the ramparts. A true modern-day knight! 🛡️ All with one clear goal: blending performance and tourism 🎯 to create great memories. If the timing’s right, the scenery might even make you forget your legs are on fire 🔥. And if 42.195 km feels a bit too ambitious, don’t panic! A <a href="kavval://pages/baaef010-e9a4-4bab-9564-803d2d9d4f29" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">half marathon</a> will also be on the program. Half the distance and 100% of the scenery! 🎨 A perfect way to get your legs ready for future editions 😉. You’ll be running in a UNESCO-listed site 🌍: the <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_des_papes_d%27Avignon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Palais des Papes </a>👑, the <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remparts_d%27Avignon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">14th-century ramparts</a> 🏰, the <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cath%C3%A9drale_Notre-Dame-des-Doms_d%27Avignon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Notre-Dame-des-Doms Cathedral</a> ⛪... Your kilometers unfold in a setting that even Hollywood wouldn’t dare invent 🎬. You’ll be among the very first finishers 🥇 of an event that could well become unmissable 📈. In 10 years, you’ll be able to say, "I was there from the very first edition" 😏 (it’s classy, and it impresses at the office 💼).Okay, let’s be honest: running 42 km makes you seriously hungry! 😋 And you’ve come to the right place to fill your belly 🍽️. Avignon and its region are a food lover’s paradise 😍. On the menu: <a href="https://www.marmiton.org/recettes/recette_tapenade-noire_21786.aspx" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">tapenade</a>, <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancho%C3%AFade" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">anchoïade</a>, <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratatouille" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ratatouille</a>, and of course the famous <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calisson" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">calissons</a> to sweeten your finish 🍯. Not to mention Côtes-du-Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape to celebrate your feat 🍷 (in moderation, okay 😅). September Provençal markets are packed with local produce: tomatoes 🍅, melons🍈, goat cheeses 🧀. You’re going to feast! For sightseeing, there’s plenty to do between stretches 🧘‍♂️: the <a href="https://palais-des-papes.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Palais des Papes</a> 🏰, the <a href="https://avignon-pont.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pont Saint-Bénézet</a> for the souvenir photo 📸, and the medieval ramparts for a post-meal stroll. Go discover the hilltop villages of the Luberon 🏘️ (<a href="kavval://cities/49ee6694-29a0-4206-9d82-0a99c45395c3" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gordes</a>, <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roussillon_(Vaucluse)" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Roussillon</a> and its ochres 🎨), or the <a href="kavval://cities/5429a381-1100-4804-b442-2715809b551c" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Baux-de-Provence</a> for landscapes that will take your breath away even more than your race 🌄. More of a nature team? The <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_naturel_r%C3%A9gional_du_Luberon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Luberon Regional Nature Park</a> and the <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_naturel_r%C3%A9gional_des_Alpilles" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Alpilles Nature Park</a> 🌲 are each less than an hour’s drive away 🚗. In short, between culture, gastronomy, and nature, you’ll have a hard time leaving! 🤩So, ready to <s>dance</s> run on the bridge of <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avignon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Avignon</a>? We’ll be waiting for you at the start! 🎶
