Bike Marathon Miękinia (in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, just outside Wrocław) is an event that has earned the status of an absolute legend over the years. It’s here, in the heart of the Strzegom Hills and the Miękinia Forests, that Poland’s largest cycle of bike marathons traditionally kicks off. The energy at the start of the first edition of the season is always electrifying!

The route in Miękinia is famous for being hellishly fast, dynamic, and smooth (so-called flow). You won’t find Alpine elevation gains here, but sequences of short, punchy climbs, forest singles, treacherous roots, and fast gravel can really torch your legs at the start of spring.

Once you roll into the finish, wash your bike, and pick up your commemorative medal, the Miękinia area offers great options for rest and celebration:

Jaworek Vineyards and the Lower Silesian Beer and Wine Trail: Miękinia is the capital of Lower Silesian winemaking! Located right next to Jaworek Vineyard (one of the largest and oldest in Poland), it’s the perfect place to unwind after the race. A walk among the vines and a glass of local wine is truly royal recovery 🍇🍷.

The Palace in Mrozów and nearby parks: A stone’s throw from Miękinia, you’ll find the charming neo-Gothic palace in Mrozów, surrounded by a historic park. A perfect, peaceful spot to “walk off” those calf cramps 🏰🌳.

Gallows Hills and forest paths: If you haven’t had enough riding (which we doubt), the local forests hide plenty of walking routes and historical curiosities with unique geological formations.

Close to Wrocław: If you start missing the big city after the race, the nearby railway station in Miękinia means you can be in Wrocław’s Market Square in under 20 minutes to keep celebrating a successful start 🏙️.
