Bolimów Tarpan Marathon 2026

Feel like escaping the city hustle and lining up for a run where, instead of roaring cars, you’re accompanied by the rustle of centuries-old oaks? Bolimów Tarpan Marathon is a unique event for lovers of cross-country and trail running, held on the picturesque forest paths of the Bolimów Landscape Park. The event refers to the mighty aurochs – the former king of these woodlands.

The organizers have prepared varied routes for runners of different ability levels: from the flagship, demanding marathon (approx. 42 km) for true tough guys, through the spectacular half marathon (approx. 21 km), all the way to a fast and dynamic 5K!. The course is 100% natural – full of soft ground, leaves, charming footbridges and forest tracks. Bolimów and its surroundings are in a brilliant location – right by the A2 motorway, exactly halfway between Warsaw and Łódź, so you can get to the start in under an hour from either of these metropolises 🚗!

When you roll into the finish with mud on your shoes, a forest scent on your clothes, and a beautiful medal, it’s time for some well-earned weekend celebrating. The area hides gems perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a family trip 😉:

A romantic walk through the park in Arkadia and Nieborów: located a stone’s throw from the race route, the romantic garden of Helena Radziwiłł in Arkadia delights with atmospheric artificial ruins, an aqueduct and the Temple of Diana. A bit further on awaits the monumental, Baroque Palace in Nieborów with a gorgeous French garden – the perfect place to calm your emotions after the race 🏛️.

A visit to the Rodzik family pottery workshop in Bolimów: Over a hundred years of craft tradition! Here you can see, with your family, how clay vessels are made on a traditional potter’s wheel, and even try your hand at throwing jugs yourself 🏺.

A canoe trip down the lazy Rawka: If your arms still have some strength left after the run, the Rawka River nature reserve offers one of the most beautiful, wild canoe routes in central Poland. The river charmingly meanders through forests, guaranteeing close contact with nature 🛶.

A hearty meal, Łowicz-style: The Bolimów Forest borders the historic Łowicz Land. After burning thousands of calories, you have to try traditional local dishes – order a hearty portion of traditional Łowicz dumplings, a thick żurek, or a classic homemade cheesecake for dessert 🍰.
