Fly meeeee away, fly meeee awayyyy 🪽
Forget about the story of cabbage and roses: everyone knows true champions arrive in a bundle carried by a rocket-propelled stork! 🚀 To confirm this myth, head to the roads of Cigogné, a small haven of peace nestled in the Indre-et-Loire department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region📍. In this village without sports infrastructure, the town hall, the school, and the APE have pulled all stops to rally the troops 🔥. Now that you know why the race is called the Cig'Run, let's go! 🤪
Get your stopwatch ready, because with almost nonexistent elevation, the terrain is perfect for smashing your records 🚀. If you've got strong legs, take on the 21.5 km "Big’Run", or opt for the original 14 km "Cig’Run" 💪. Short of breath but brave in heart? The 7.5 km "Six’Run" awaits you 💥. And because you're never too young to take flight, children have their events with the 2.8 km "Teen’Run" and the 1.4 km "Kid’Run" (shotgun start at 11 AM! 🫡). Driven by a powerful alliance between the town hall 🏛️, the Cigogné school📚, and the parents' association, the Cig’Run is a warm, human-scale adventure 🫂.
Once you cross the finish line, don't rush off: Touraine has plenty to rejuvenate you! 🏅 To soak up the effort, treat yourself to a tasting of rillettes de Tours, accompanied by a delicious goat cheese like the famous Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine 🐐. If you've still got some energy, you're perfectly positioned to explore the treasures of the Loire Valley: visit the ghosts of history at the nearby Château de Chenonceau, or get lost in the medieval streets of Loches 🏰. Between generous gastronomy and royal heritage, the post-race fun in Cigogné promises to be just as memorable as the race itself!
So, ready to show who's the fastest stork in the pack? 🧨
