The event in a few words

Get ready for a start that probably has the most symbolic name in the Polish running calendar! CROSS Marathon "From Hell to Heaven" takes place in the Końskie municipality (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship ), and its name comes from two real villages located on the course: Hell and Heaven. This is a cross-country race in the fullest sense of the word—forget smooth asphalt! The route runs through the deep Końskie forests, sandy forest tracks, and paths full of protruding roots. Covering the marathon or half-marathon distance, you literally run through "Hell" so that, after a hard fight with the terrain and your own fatigue, you can charge straight into "Heaven" 🏃‍♂️🔥☁️.

Once you reach your runner’s bliss at the finish line, the surroundings of Końskie and Sielpia will offer you ideal conditions to come back to life:

The Sielpia Reservoir —called the "Świętokrzyskie Ibiza"—is the perfect place for post-marathon relaxation. Wide sandy beaches and pine forests surrounding the water create a microclimate that supports recovery. You can cool your legs in the lake or simply rest on a deckchair, savoring your success 🌊🏖️.

The Old Polish Industrial District Museum in Sielpia —if you’re interested in the history of technology, be sure to visit this place. You’ll see a gigantic water wheel and old industrial machines. It’s a calm walk in the shade of historic walls that won’t tire your muscles, yet will provide some fascinating visual impressions ⚙️🏛️.

The Rock Formations in Hell near Niekłań —if your legs somehow still crave more movement, this nature reserve offers amazing sandstone rock formations. They look like they’re from another planet! It’s a perfect spot for a commemorative photo session with your medal in an "hellish" setting 👺⛰️.

The Palace and Park Complex in Końskie —a walk through the classicist park, past the Glorietta and the Greek Temple, will let you unwind after the hardships of the marathon. This elegant setting is the ideal backdrop for a recovery stroll to "walk off" the soreness 🌳🏛️.

After passing through Hell and reaching Heaven, your stomach will certainly be demanding something substantial. The Końskie region is famous for excellent pierogi and game dishes. It’s also worth trying local cured meats and country bread, which taste exceptionally authentic here. A solid portion of carbs in one of the local inns by the Sielpia reservoir is the best reward for battling the course 🥟🐗.

Remember, this marathon isn’t just about the kilometers—it’s a story you’ll be telling friends for years: about how you conquered the road from Hell to Heaven on your own two feet. Are you ready for this metaphysical run? 🏁
