Thessalonikki marathon
If there's one city in Greece that has turned into the cradle of nightlife, it's Thessaloniki ๐. With its many clubs and discos, you have plenty to keep you awake until the break of dawn ๐บ. But if you're more into electrolytes than gin tonic ๐โ๐ฉ, we have a plan for you: the Thessaloniki International Night Half Marathon ๐. This night race will let you explore the second largest city in Greece after Athens in the best possible way ๐คฉ. PS: if you want to run AND party, you can ๐.
Come on! Put on your best evening running outfit and join the Thessaloniki International Night Half Marathon for a half marathon, a 10 km, a 5 km or a family run ๐งโ๐งโ๐งโ๐ง. No need for a headlamp ๐ฆ, the city of Thessaloniki will be well-lit to guide you throughout the course. And what a course it is! You'll weave through the streets like a true Thessalonian: Dendropotamou, Marinou Antipa, and even Karaoli & Dimitriou Avenue ๐, starting from the Municipal Stadium of Ampelokipoi โKonstantinos Karamanlisโ ๐๏ธ. All punctuated with 180-degree turns to awaken your thighs and mind ๐ง . As for the atmosphere, brace yourself for a gigantic party that intensifies with each kilometer ๐ฅ. You'll be treated to entertainment along the course, live music and a wild party upon your arrival ๐บ. And if you want to take it easy, bring the whole family to the Family Mile Run of 1.6 km. It's open to everyone, regardless of level: even grandpa and grandma can join in ๐. But watch out during this night run, Greece is known for its myths and legends ๐งโโ๏ธ. In Greek mythology, it is said that Thessalonikรฉ, the half-sister of Alexander the Great, was turned into a gorgon at her death ๐งโโ๏ธ. If you hear siren calls urging you to dive into the Aegean Sea, it's either her or the hallucinations of km 18 ๐. If you finish in one piece, there's only one thing left to do: celebrate! ๐
This Greek city boasts dozens of nightclubs to celebrate your victory ๐คช. The organization offers a post-race party, but if you want to stay out until 4 AM, head to Valaoritou Street ๐คช. Thessaloniki is not just a party scene โ. Stroll through the city's alleyways where you can't resist the traditional taverns ๐ด. On the menu, grilled fish straight from the port, gavros and kalamarakia tiganita (fried anchovies and calamari) that will make you forget your cramps ๐ฅ. After that, take a walk on the waterfront, check out the White Tower, greet the statue of Alexander the Great, and visit the paleochristian and Byzantine monuments, listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites ๐.

For the bravest, the Semi-Marathon of the Thessaloniki Night Half Marathon is here! The legendary start is on 28th October street, at the foot of the Ampelokipoi Municipal Stadium โKonstantinos Karamanlisโ๐๏ธ. Like the other courses, you head towards Dendropotamou street and Marinou Antipa. You will then make a 180-degree turn to continue in the opposite direction on Marinou Antipa and Dendropotamou street ๐. After following 28th October street, you arrive on Iatrou Gogousi street, which leads onto Karaoli & Dimitriou Avenue. You need to manage your pace! ๐ฅต The streets of Aristotelous, Monastiriou and Agias Paraskevis unfold, and the city transforms into a luminous circuit where each turn follows closely ๐ฅ. And when the last return on 28th October comes, itโs the finish arch that welcomes you at the stadium, ready to offer you your medal and your moment of glory! ๐
Ready to double down? โ๏ธ The 10 km starts from 28 October Street, right in front of the Ampelokipoi Municipal Stadium โKonstantinos Karamanlisโ๐๏ธ.
