The event in a few words

Think you've seen it all in the great family of triathlon? Wait until you set your aero bars on a Taiwanese archipelago where the wind ruthlessly imposes its law 😅. Ironman Penghu is not just a leisurely Sunday ride by the beach; it's a true battle against raging elements. Put on your aerodynamic helmet, neoprene suit, and prepare for an adventure that will shake the machine! 🤘

This event takes place in the middle of spring in the county of Penghu, with its epicenter in the city of Magong. This archipelago, often nicknamed the Pescadores Islands, consists of no fewer than 90 islands scattered in the formidable Taiwan Strait 😲. No half-measures or discovery formats on the menu; the organization offers only the full distance to test your limits. You'll have to conquer 3.8 km of ocean swimming, devour 180.2 km on the saddle battling gusts, and finish off with the 42.195 km of the final marathon 🥵.

The course profile promises to be a real test of resilience for your legs. The swim plunges you right into the swell, while the long bike segment is ultra-exposed to crosswinds 😬. Forget about a leisurely ride with the wind in your face; you'll have to pedal against an invisible wall for hours. Fortunately, the running marathon offers a completely flat route to relieve tired joints 😌. You'll run close to the famous Kuibishan Geopark, where an impressive natural phenomenon perfectly recreates the myth of Moses parting the seas 😲. At low tide, a 300 m gravel path emerges from the waters to connect to the volcanic island of Chiyu! 🌟

The atmosphere on the archipelago matches the harshness of the climate. The locals push you to your limits with incredible enthusiasm along the rugged roads. Beyond the intense physical effort, exploration continues targeting absolutely stunning geological landscapes 🤩. Rush to admire the majestic basalt columns of Daguoye, a rock curiosity that seems to have been sculpted by giants. Then immerse yourself in island life by visiting traditional fishing villages to understand life on these typhoon-prone lands 😌.

Sharpen your steel mind and come claim your legendary medal at the end of the world! 🏆
