A true running festival awaits you in the heart of the Jelenia Góra valley! The flagship races set off on Sunday from Piastowski Square in Cieplice-Zdrój, Poland’s oldest spa resort. The course, officially certified by the federation, runs through Jelenia Góra, Podgórzyn and Staniszów. Beyond the athletic challenge, it offers spectacular views of the snow-capped peaks of the Giant Mountains (Karkonosze) 🏔️. If the half marathon feels a bit too tough, you can choose the 10 km instead. Saturday, meanwhile, spotlights shorter formats: the 5 km, the thermal mile, and races dedicated to children 🏃♂️.
After giving it your all, Jelenia Góra and Cieplice are the perfect playground for “active recovery”:
Cieplice Thermal Baths: Nothing soothes muscles better than the warmth of thermal waters. It’s a must-stop after crossing the finish line ♨️.
Chojnik Castle: If you still have a bit of juice left in your legs, climb up to the ruins of this castle in Sobieszów. From the tower, the view over the entire valley is simply breathtaking 🏰.
Zdrojowy and Norwegian Park: The perfect duo for a leisurely stroll to bring the pressure down, in the shade of centuries-old trees and amid superb spa architecture 🌲.
Jelenia Góra Market Square : Stop by the Town Hall for the traditional souvenir photo with the famous deer sculpture, then settle in calmly on a terrace at one of the cafés under the arcades ☕.
Quick reminder: this race counts toward the Lower Silesia Half Marathon Crown. So it’s a golden opportunity to get closer to that prestigious trophy! 🏅
