This is a true celebration of running in the heart of the Jeleniogórska Valley. The main races start on Sunday from the picturesque Piastowski Square in Cieplice-Zdrój – the oldest spa in Poland. The PZLA-certified route runs through Jelenia Góra, Podgórzyn, and Staniszów, offering runners not only a sports challenge but also incredible views of the still snow-capped peaks of the Karkonosze. If a half marathon is too much for you, you can opt for the Jeleniogórska Ten, and on Saturday, reserve shorter distances: the Cieplicka Five, the Spa Mile, or children's races 🏅.
After the race, Jelenia Góra and Cieplice are ideal places for "active recovery":
✨ Cieplice Thermal Baths: Nothing regenerates muscles like hot thermal waters. This is a must-see after crossing the finish line ♨️.
🏰 Chojnik Castle: If your legs are still willing, climb to the castle in Sobieszów. The view of the entire valley from the castle tower is breathtaking 🛡️.
🌳 Spa and Norwegian Park: Perfect places for a relaxing walk among ancient trees and historic spa architecture 🌲.
🦌 Market Square in Jelenia Góra: Visit the Jelenia Góra town hall and take a photo with the deer sculpture, then sit in one of the cafés under the arcades ☕.
🥟 For recovery: Be sure to try local specialties of Karkonosze cuisine, such as hearty sour soup or traditional dumplings 🥣.
Remember, this race also counts towards the Lower Silesian Half Marathon Crown, so it's a great opportunity to get closer to earning this prestigious trophy!
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
