The event in a few words

Imagine running a certain distance every day in trail, then discovering local culture. Combining the two is possible! ๐Ÿฅณ 8 days of travel including 5 of racing, are you interested? ๐Ÿค”

Today, we offer you this format in the beautiful country of Senegal ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ. Head south for the Kadiouk Trail Casamanca ๐Ÿƒ. If you don't know what to do in late November to early December, we're always here to inspire you! ๐Ÿ’ก Even during this period, it's warm there ๐Ÿฅต. So, equip yourself with SPF 50 sunscreen to avoid getting burned, your best sunglasses ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ, your favorite trail shoes and embark on an unparalleled adventure โœˆ๏ธ.

The Kadiouk Trail Casamanca is the 8th child of the Exaequo Voyages family. We're talking about the organizers of the Kimbia Kenya, the Cabo Verde Ribeira Trail or the Norway Fjord Trail (among others). After a quick stop in Dakar for the night ๐ŸŒ™, you'll discover Ziguinchor and its palm trees ๐ŸŒด, the regional capital, then the small village ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ of Koubalang. That's where your journey truly begins. Two distances are available: a 50 km, with 10 km to cover each day for 5 days. For the more seasoned, a 100 km, or 20 km per day. No time to waste! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Stage 1 crosses bush areas before reaching the village of Agnack. On the second day, you run among giant baobabs and endless rice fields ๐Ÿ˜Ž. The highlight is the arrival at the Casamance riverbank, a magnificent spot where you might see manatees if you're lucky ๐Ÿฆญ. Hold tight for the third stage on Niomoune Island. It's the wild heart of the raid, where you truly feel far from everything ๐Ÿ›–. Stage 4: Hitou. It's the "end of the world" stage. After a transfer by pirogue ๐Ÿšฃ, you embark on a unique route following an immersion in this village with animist traditions ๐ŸŒฑ. You'll then head to Cachouane, where you'll rest your eyes ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ. From the calm of Cachouane, you head by tuk-tuk to the buzz of Djembering for the 5th and final stage. The end of the course takes place on the vast beach of Cap Skirring ๐Ÿ๏ธ. During your race, take the time to open your eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ and enjoy the postcard landscapes this beautiful country has to offer ๐ŸŽ. You'll pass by rice fields, beaches, mangroves, baobabs, and even "ceibas". Quick note โš ๏ธ: don't expect to find a camembert ๐Ÿง€ in the middle of nowhereโ€ฆ A ceiba is a giant tree ๐ŸŒณ that can reach 40 m tall! However, you won't be alone: expect to receive spectators. Village children will likely cheer you on. You'll be a real running star ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

The region of Casamance is full of unique ecosystems and peoples with legends and stories ๐Ÿ“– more captivating than one another. You'll meet the locals, discover their culture, their traditions, and share unforgettable moments with them. We guarantee it! ๐Ÿ‘Œ But that's not all: local populations are often victims of inequalities (economic, educational, climate, migratory). Behind your race lies a genuine solidarity project โœŠ. By participating in this journey ๐Ÿงณ, you directly support the actions of the Futur au Prรฉsent association, which assists these communities. The people you meet are those who will benefit from these social programs. You run for a good cause, and that is priceless ๐Ÿ’ซ.

So, are you ready for the adventure? ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

4 reasons to join this race

A valuable contribution ๐Ÿคฒ
Participating in this event means supporting a solidarity project for the local communities. You'll become a key player through visits, sharing, and simply by being present, as part of the proceeds will be donated to the association Futur au Prรฉsent ๐Ÿ™.
A real journey โœˆ๏ธ
Blending travel and passion has a special flavor. Trail running in Senegal is great. But visiting a less touristy region and discovering local culture directly with the inhabitants is the cherry on top ๐Ÿฐ.
A diversity of landscapes ๐Ÿž๏ธ
There are trails where you only see trees for hours... and then there's the Kadiouk Trail Casamanca. Here, you'll see everything, and in all colors: rice fields, tracks, beaches, forest paths, and even bolongs. No, really, no expense has been spared. You'll feast your eyes! ๐Ÿ‘€
Sharing above all ๐Ÿ˜‡
This event is limited to 35 participants. You'll meet new faces to talk about trail running, travels, and performances. Runners from various backgrounds, with whom you'll share wonderful moments. People like you, ultimately, with whom you may create beautiful memories and, why not, great friendships ๐Ÿฅฐ.
