The event in a few words

Looking for a run that will stay etched in your memory forever—and instead of the city hustle will offer you the rustle of ancient trees and the scent of wild woodland? Kresowe Trail – Żubr Half Marathon is an absolute gem in Poland’s cross-country running calendar 🏅! The course over the classic half-marathon distance (21.0975 km) and the accompanying shorter distances lead through the deepest, most picturesque corners of the Białowieża Forest or the Knyszyn Forest. Forget flat, monotonous trails—sandy forest tracks, treacherous woodland roots, soggy boardwalks, and natural obstacles will make you feel the wild, primal call of nature with every step 🏁.

Once you cross the finish line, shake hands with the organizers, and hang a unique forest medal around your neck, this magical region will offer you relaxation you won’t find anywhere else in the world:

Face to face with the King of the Forest—with the family: Since you’re starting in the Żubr Half Marathon, a visit to the Bison Show Reserve is an absolute must 🦬! A walk along well-prepared paths will let you and the kids see mighty European bison, bison hybrids, lynx, wolves, and deer in near-natural conditions. It’s an amazing nature lesson and the perfect, gentle way to walk off the soreness.

A romantic walk for two at the Place of Power: Take your better half deep into the forest to the so-called Place of Power 🌌. It’s an old worship site of the ancient Slavs where, according to dowsers, there is anomalous, very strong radiation of positive energy. A stroll among unusually twisted trees and wild nature, in the arms of your loved one, is a brilliant, mystical way to deeply reset and recharge.

Fairy-tale architecture in the Land of Openwork Shutters: Go on a trip in the footsteps of traditional Podlasie villages such as Trześcianka, Soce or Puchły 🏡. There you’ll see unique wooden cottages with richly carved, colorful shutters, corner boards, and lintels that look like they’ve been lifted straight out of old fairy tales. The unhurried pace of sightseeing will soothe every runner’s senses.

A forest feast for a hungry runner: This forest trail will drain a lot of energy from you, so refueling has to be serious 🤔! In regional Podlasie inns, be sure to order the local legendary specialties: filling, hot kartacze stuffed with meat, traditional potato babka or potato kishka served with a thick mushroom sauce straight from the forest, and the iconic cake Marcinek for a sweet, masterful finish to the day.

Get your trail shoes ready, take a deep breath of forest air, and report to the starting line … 🌲 The Podlasie King of the Forest is waiting to put your running form to the test!
