Les Défis des Chalets - Agaune Trail 2027

Saint-Maurice, the ancient Agaune, is wedged between cliffs and the Rhône. It opens its trails to you for Les Défis des Chalets, and here, we won't promise you a stroll on the flats! ⛰️

You'll have a choice of four distances: 8 km to get a taste of the atmosphere, 13 km to step it up a notch, 24 km to treat yourself to a real, great day out in the mountains, or 42 km if you want a big challenge. There's also La Falaise Gourmande, a name that already makes your mouth water, and reminds you that pleasure counts as much as the clock. Between forest, nature and alpine scenery, you move through a setting that gives you wings. The youngest aren't forgotten, with kids' and juniors' courses so the whole family can meet on the trails 🌲.

Once you've crossed the line, save your energy: the area is worth the detour. Push open the door of the Abbey of Saint-Maurice, which has watched over the town for more than fifteen centuries. It houses an impressive treasure, perfect for a quiet break. You can then head to the Grotte aux Fées, with its waterfall hidden in the rock, for a little touch of adventure without waders.

Are your legs begging for rest? Head to Lavey-les-Bains, a few minutes away, where the hot water of the thermal baths will relax every muscle ♨️. If you still have a bit of juice left, the Pissevache waterfall, near Vernayaz, is a great way to end the day with a grand water show.
