Festival Half Marathon Moneta + Zlín 2027

Slip into your running shoes and feel an incredible mix of sporting thrills and cinematic magic! This unique half marathon (21.097 km) is an integral part of the iconic Zlín Film Festival – the oldest and largest film festival for children and youth in the world 🎬. For those who prefer shorter distances, the organizers also prepare a quarter marathon (approx. 10.5 km) and joyful relays 🏃. The course runs through the very heart of Zlín, including past unique red-brick factory buildings and the famous workers’ houses, letting you experience firsthand the remarkable functionalist architecture created by the shoe empire of Tomáš Baťa 👟.

Once you cross the finish line to the loud cheers of the festival crowd and collect your unique medal, Zlín and its surroundings will offer you plenty of film and architectural delights:

For a walk: Take a stroll through the city center and be sure to see the Zlín sky-scraper (Building 21) – the former heart of the Baťa company, which at the time of its construction was one of the tallest buildings in Europe. The biggest attraction is the original, fully operational boss’s office-elevator measuring 6×6 meters, equipped with air conditioning and a washbasin 🏢!

For the family: Head to the nearby Lešná ZOO, considered one of the most beautiful zoos in the Czech Republic. The animals live here in natural biospheres, and a highlight is the chance to pet and feed stingrays in a special pavilion 🦈.

For a trip: In just 15 minutes you can reach the charming spa town of Luhačovice. There you can walk along the Art Nouveau colonnades designed by Dušan Jurkovič and try the famous, highly mineralized лечебной water Vincentka 🌊.

On the plate: After burning hundreds of calories on Zlín’s asphalt loops, it’s time for a hearty Moravian feast. Order the traditional vepřo-knedlo-zelo (roast pork with cabbage and dumplings) or local plum jam kolaches, and top it all off with a glass of cold beer from a local brewery or a shot of traditional Moravian plum brandy for better digestion 🥃
