The event in a few words

Fancy starting in exceptional natural surroundings, where modern urban infrastructure seamlessly blends with the rustle of the forest and the shimmer of lakes? The Olsztyn half marathon route is extremely spectacular and varied – it runs both along the city’s modern arteries and along charming, green paths around the iconic Lake Ukiel. It’s the perfect challenge for anyone who wants to test their endurance and feel the amazing gust of Warmia’s wind in their sails 🏁.

Olsztyn is the capital of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, a unique city nestled in the arms of a dozen or so lakes and the vast Municipal Forest. You can get here easily from every corner of the region: from Ostróda in 35 minutes, from Elbląg in an hour, and from Warsaw via the S7 in under two and a half hours 🚗. Once you proudly cross the finish line at the modern CRS Ukiel venue with a beautiful medal around your neck, the city invites you to enjoy some brilliant, well-deserved rest:

A cosmic family adventure: After the run, be sure to visit the Olsztyn Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory 🌌. It’s the second-largest planetarium in Poland, where you can take part in amazing space shows. It’s worth remembering that in the local castle lived and worked Nicolaus Copernicus himself – on the cloister wall you can still admire the original astronomical table he made!

Romantic lakeside relaxation for two: Since the runners’ village is located by Lake Ukiel (Krzywe), stay a little longer 🌊. A walk along the modern wooden piers, coffee on a viewing terrace with a sunset view, or a moment of relaxation on the sandy beach is an ideal, effortless way to recharge tired legs in the arms of your loved one.

A walk in the footsteps of history: Head to the charming Olsztyn Old Town 🏰. Walk through the monumental High Gate, see the Gothic Castle of the Warmian Chapter and take a souvenir photo sitting on the bench next to the sculpture of Nicolaus Copernicus.

Warmian flavors for recovery: After burning more than a thousand calories, it’s time for a proper energy top-up 🤔! In local inns, be sure to order traditional Warmian dzyndzałki with hreczka (delicious dumplings filled with buckwheat groats and bacon) or fresh, crispy fish from the Masurian lakes (e.g., vendace or pike-perch) straight from the pan.

Find the right breathing rhythm, feel the incredible energy of Warmia, and check in for this unique start … 🌲 Olsztyn’s lakes are waiting for your big run!
