The event in a few words

Fancy a dynamic run under the cover of night in a unique student vibe? The Open Łomża Academic Night Running Championships is an event that charges participants with an incredible dose of energy and proves that night running has real magic 🏃‍♂️! Although the race has the status of an academic championship, it is fully open to everyone – from students and lecturers to early birds and night owls from all over the country. Runners can look forward to a fast urban route lit by street lamps and a distance perfect for chasing PBs (most often a quick 5K – 5 km), which lets you hit maximum speeds 🏅.

Łomża is the historic heart of Mazovia and Podlasie, beautifully set on hills above the Narew Valley. The city is very well located – from Białystok you’ll get here in about an hour, from Ostrołęka in 40 minutes, and from Warsaw in under two hours 🚗. Once you proudly cross the finish line with a gleaming medal, Łomża and the surrounding area will offer you excellent conditions to unwind:

Narew panoramas with the family: After the nighttime effort, head out the next day for a stroll along the Łomża Boulevards on the Narew 🌊. It’s a beautifully developed area with playgrounds, outdoor gyms, and a river marina. An ideal spot for family relaxation and admiring the wild, meandering river.

A romantic journey into Kurpie tradition: Take your other half to the nearby Adam Chętnik Kurpie Open-Air Museum in Nowogród 🏡. Located on a high escarpment above the Narew, this historic park hides beautiful wooden cottages, hollow-log beehives, and offers views that can leave you speechless.

Face to face with the Narew Valley: Visit the Łomża Landscape Park of the Narew Valley headquartered in Drozdowo 🌾. There you can tour the charming Nature Museum (housed in the former manor of the Lutosławski family) and walk educational trails among unique wetland floodplains.

Łomża calories: After a nighttime sprint, your body will need some serious recovery 🤔! Be sure to try local regional and Kurpie specialties – order the legendary rejbaki(a traditional Kurpie potato cake with bacon) or crispy dumplings, and wash it all down with traditional, refreshing juniper "kozic" beer (a non-alcoholic juniper drink).

Slip into your racing shoes, charge the batteries in your headlamp, and report to the start line … 🏁 Łomża is waiting to break the nighttime silence together with you!
