Everyone in pink! 🩷

In October, we’re heading to the magnificent Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region for a date highlighted in pink in the diary 📆. It’s in the heart of La Motte, a charming village located in the Var, that a running race unlike any other is being prepared: Le run des demoiselles 🎀. Here, the atmosphere is meant to be 100% feminine, warm and supportive, but gentlemen, don’t panic ❌. You’re welcome on the start line under one condition: come dressed up as a woman or proudly sport a feminine accessory 🙋‍♀️. A great opportunity to break the codes of the traditional pack as part of Pink October ! 🎀

What’s on the program? A 7 km loop, also doable walking, winding between sun-drenched vineyards and lush forests 🍇. The course runs right next to the magnificent Château des Demoiselles 🏰. This outstanding wine estate covers 300 hectares, including 72 hectares of vineyard under the A.O.P Côtes de Provence designation, nestled inland in the heart of the Esclans Valley 🍷. We’re a far cry from the historic atmosphere of the film saga Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez, even if the local police will probably salute your effort 😂. This race can also be done in a team of at least 5 women 👊. Also, the event is entirely focused on supporting cancer care: for each registration recorded, part of the funds is directly donated to the oncology department of the Fréjus Saint-Raphaël Intercommunal Hospital 🏥. Concretely, that’s €4 per bib going to bring strength and support to patients 💌.

After crossing the finish line, sharing your doubts about pacing, and getting your dose of endorphins, there’s no question of heading straight home! 🙅‍♀️ Provence is waiting with open arms, and there’s no shortage of options to extend this unforgettable experience 😍. If you feel like playing movie star, the legendary village of Saint-Tropez is less than an hour away by car (or by bateaux-verts if you’re a seafaring type ⚓️). You can also stroll through the streets of Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Raphaël, Port-Grimaud or Draguignan 🔎. Epicureans will also find happiness by diving into the authenticity of Provençal markets🪻. Their colourful stalls are packed with delicious local products—perfect for a post-race carb reload 🤤. Finally, if you want to buy good wine, we can only recommend touring the Provençal cellars 🤌.
