Run through one of the most beautiful and charming corners of Slovakia! Beh v Raji (“Run in Paradise”) is an intimate, highly regarded cross-country and mountain race held in the village of Stratená, located in the southern part of Slovak Paradise National Park (Slovenský raj) 🏃🌲. Runners can choose from scenic cross-country routes (including the main trail distances, a Nordic Walking march, and children’s races). The course leads through dense, resin-scented forests, charming valleys, and along the winding bed of the Hnilec River, offering crisp mountain air and close contact with rugged nature.
After completing the route and earning your medal, the southern part of Slovak Paradise invites you to wonderful, natural relaxation! Take a gentle stroll through Stratenský Canyon – a charming gorge of the Hnilec River with limestone walls, wooden footbridges, and educational trail boards, perfect for post-workout recovery 🌲🌉. Visit the monumental Dobšiná Ice Cave (UNESCO) – one of Europe’s most important and most spectacular ice caves, where impressive ice stalagmites and underground ice blocks can be admired all year round ❄️🦇. Hike up to the viewpoint Havrania Skala, which offers a panorama of the entire Slovak Paradise National Park, or head to the mountain lake Palcmanská Maša in Dedinky to go pedal boating or kayaking ⛰️🚣.
After a full day of exertion, replenish your calories with traditional Slovak treats: hot bryndza halušky with bacon cracklings, aromatic sauerkraut soup, or fluffy steamed buns with poppy seeds and butter (Pařené buchty). To drink, a chilled Kofola with an herbal note is perfect, or Czech-Slovak craft beer 🧀🥓🍺
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
