Run the Forests Železná Ruda 2026

Experience an incredible adventure right on the Czech–German border, in the heart of the wild and mysterious Šumava National Park 🌲. The course leads through virgin forests, picturesque valleys and former border strips, offering clean air and breathtaking views 🏔️.

After a successful finish in Železná Ruda, the area has plenty of options for you to relax. Be sure to take a walk to the Black Lake (Černé jezero), the largest and deepest glacial lake in the Czech Republic, which captivates with its dark, mystical atmosphere 🌊. With your family, you can take the chairlift up to the Špičák peak and climb the modern observation tower 🔭. If you feel like an excursion, in less than 30 minutes you can reach the town of Hartmanice to see a unique synagogue with an exhibition about the lives of Šumava’s former residents 🏛️. For well-deserved recovery after the run, be sure to try Šumava kulajda – a thick, traditional soup with mushrooms, potatoes and a poached egg 🥣
