The Trento Half Marathon is also known (for insiders) as the "Trento Running Festival"! 🪐 To run it, you need to go to Trento, a jewel of Trentino-Alto Adige in Northern Italy 🇮🇹, a place where you can't decide whether to look at the mountains or the towers ⛰️. The star of the event is the Half Marathon, a perfect 21.097 km run that takes you through the most beautiful areas of the city 🌆. The course is a fast loop, almost flat, except for a short 300-meter climb with a 2% incline... 🛵 no big deal, right? It'll wake up your calves at least! 🦵 You'll start from Piazza Dante, and you'll have the chance to pass in front of Torre Vanga, before skirting the modern district of Albere🏛️, and the science museum designed by Renzo Piano. The race ends in style, on the cobblestones of Piazza Duomo, under the watchful eye of Neptune (or rather his fountain) 🌛. Naturally, as finishers, you'll receive a medal, a t-shirt, a digital diploma, and a good post-race meal 🏅 (with a bit of luck it'll be Italian pasta) 🍝. For those who prefer to limit the kilometers further, they can compete in the Trento 10 K, a 10 km race that has nothing to envy to the half! 💪
But the Trento Running Festival is not just about sweat and times ⏱️. It's also a festive weekend with the Trentino Wellness Expo, featuring concerts, entertainment, and races for the whole family! 🤩 You can take your crew to the start of the "Happy Family" 👫, a walk/run of about 5 km open to everyone, organized to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the foundation of the Banca per il Trentino-Südtirol. Young champions aged 2 to 8 can also participate in a 200m competition 👦 that is reserved for them. Culture enthusiasts, on the other hand, can rejoice with the Trento Guest Card, granting discounted access to museums, castles, and public transport 🚃.
This lovely little Italian town has more than one trick up its sleeve 👜, so we suggest staying around to enjoy its charms 😏. Start your visit at the Castello del Buonconsiglio, one of the largest castles in the region! 🏰 For an immersion in Trento's Roman past, visit the Tridentum archaeological site 🔍, accessible from Piazza Cesare Battisti, where you can discover remains of ancient streets, houses, and mosaics, cool, right? 🏹 For a more unusual experience, explore the Orrido di Ponte Alto, a spectacular gorge with impressive waterfalls, an adventure that might turn you into Indiana Jones! 🤠 And for foodies, those who enjoy the good things, don't leave without tasting the Trento DOC, a local sparkling wine produced according to the traditional method 🍷, which you can savor in the region's cellars! Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health, always consume in moderation.
Now that the Trento Half Marathon holds no secrets for you, we'd love to see you there! 📯
