The event in a few words

Heading for North Rhine-Westphalia, in western Germany 🇩🇪. You’ll be able to take part in the hugely famous Silvesterlauf Werl-Soest. This race is a point-to-point course of exactly 15 kilometers, running almost straight the whole way on asphalt. Your body will have to warm up quickly to face the winter temperature and get those legs spinning at full speed if you hope to end the year with a magnificent personal record! ⏱️

Your effort starts near the Werl Stadthalle, then heads through the Westphalian countryside. The immersion becomes magical in the last kilometers, when you enter the magnificent historic center of Soest. You’ll feel like you’re gliding over the cobblestones, surrounded by superb half-timbered houses and dominated by the imposing Wiesenkirche, carried by the momentum of a pack charging full speed toward the new year ❄️.

Forget the monotony of typical countryside races—here, the party spirit (Silvester) takes over the whole region. Locals crowd along the federal road, often setting up mini-bars in their gardens, blasting music and cheering you on with firecrackers and party poppers. An atmosphere of total euphoria welcomes you under the finish arch, where the effort of the race immediately gives way to New Year’s Eve excitement 🏅.

Save a last bit of appetite to do justice to German end-of-year street food once your "finisher" medal is around your neck. Carry your steaming body to the market square to devour an unmissable grilled Bratwurst (sausage) in a bread roll, or a traditional Berliner (the New Year’s Eve doughnut). Above all, warm your hands and your soul with a good cup of Glühwein (spiced mulled wine), or toast your race with a glass of Sekt (sparkling wine). Start your stopwatch and come finish the year in style on the B63! 💥
