The event in a few words

If you dream of a start where the scent of the sea breeze blends with the smell of the forest, and the finish line welcomes you with a view of the longest wooden pier in Europe, then Sopot Half Marathon is for you. It’s a unique race because Sopot – even though it’s mainly associated with beach lounging – offers runners incredibly varied terrain, from flat seaside promenades to demanding climbs in the Tri-City Landscape Park.

Part of the route is fast, flat asphalt along the bay, where you can find your rhythm and admire the sea. The other part often heads into the upper areas of the city, treating runners to “Sopot wall climbs” – short but punchy inclines that can really put your fitness to the test. 📈🌊 And the finish? On the beach! Nothing beats the moment when, after 21 kilometers, you run into the finish with the sound of the waves behind you and the iconic Grand Hotel.

After battling Sopot’s hills, the resort offers “premium” recovery:

Sea cryotherapy: If the water isn’t yet icy, stepping into the Baltic Sea, even just up to your knees, is the best free recovery for tired legs. Salt water and cool temperatures work wonders! 🌊🧊

A walk along the Pier: Even if your legs feel heavy, walking all the way to the end of Sopot’s pier is a must-do ritual. The higher iodine concentration at the end of the pier is natural “doping” for your lungs after the effort. 🗼🌬️

Aquapark Sopot: If the Baltic is too demanding, the local pool and sauna complex (and the only wild river in Poland with such a gradient!) is the perfect place to soak your muscles and fully relax. 🏊‍♂️🧖‍♂️

Coffee on “Monciak”: Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street is the heart of Sopot. Sit down in one of the outdoor café gardens, order a strong espresso and a dessert, and simply watch the lively city, enjoying the fact that you’ve already run your kilometer limit for today. ☕🍰

Tri-City Landscape Park (TPK): If you’re looking for peace and quiet, it only takes a few minutes’ walk from the center toward the Forest Opera. A calm stroll along forest paths is an excellent “forest bath” that will soothe your nervous system. 🌲🍃

Sopot Half Marathon is a race that lets you feel like a star in Poland’s most elegant seaside resort. It’s the perfect blend of a sporting challenge and luxurious rest. 🏁
