The event in a few words

Sudecka 100 is an absolute legend of Polish ultra running, one of the oldest and most prestigious mountain races in the country. The start and finish in Boguszów-Gorce (the highest-situated town in Poland!) guarantee a raw mountain climate and a huge dose of satisfaction. As the name suggests, the flagship distance is 100 km through the Wałbrzyskie Mountains and the Stone Mountains, but the organizers also offer shorter variants (often around 42 km or 21 km), so everyone can feel the spirit of the "Sudecka" 💨. It’s a race where it’s not just about pace, but about the ability to battle your own mind on steep climbs and technical descents that can punish even the most battle-hardened ultras ✨.

Once you cross the finish line (often late in the evening or at night) and your muscles are begging for mercy, the area around Boguszów and Wałbrzych offers recovery with a historical twist 🏰:

Książ Castle: This is the third-largest castle in Poland and an absolute must-see. A walk along its terraces with views of the surrounding gorges is the best reward for the soul after the fight on the course 🏰.

The Old Mine in Wałbrzych: This is a fascinating science and technology center created on the grounds of a former mine. Families with children will love the industrial vibe and the chance to "step into" the history of mining ⚙️.

Chełmiec: From the summit of this mountain towering over Boguszów, there’s an incredible panorama of the entire Sudetes. If you still have a bit of strength after the race, it’s the perfect spot for a "recovery walk" with a view of the route you’ve just conquered 🔭.

Sudeten blueberry pierogi: After a 100 km run, your body will be demanding calories. Local cuisine in shelters and roadside inns in the area serves insane pierogi – with blueberries (if in season) or hearty meat-filled ones that will get any runner back on their feet 🥟!
