The event in a few words

Tatra SkyMarathon is a race for those who choose the Tatra scree and technical ridges over flat asphalt. This is not an ordinary marathon – it's 40 km of pure mountain magic with an elevation gain of about 2300 m up! 📈 The route starts and finishes in the picturesque Kościelisko, leading through demanding paths of the Western Tatras, where your lungs burn, and the views of Giewont and Czerwone Wierchy literally take your breath away ✨. It's a challenge for true "chamois," who love technical descents and battling their own weakness at altitude.

Once you've descended from the mountains and your heart rate returns to normal, Kościelisko and the vicinity of Zakopane (just under two hours from Kraków) offer the best recovery under the sun ⛰️:

Dolina Kościeliska: An ideal place for families for a leisurely walk after the race. You can visit caves (e.g., Mroźna) or simply reach the Ornak Shelter for a delicious apple pie 🥧.

Chochołowskie Thermal Baths: Just 15 minutes drive from the finish line! This is an absolute haven for tired muscles – hot thermal water and a mountain view from the outdoor pool are the best "physiotherapist" you could dream of 💆‍♂️.

Gubałówka: Take the cable car from Zakopane to admire the panorama of the Tatra Mountains, which you just conquered on foot – a perfect moment for couples to enjoy a romantic sunset 🌅.

Oscypek with cranberry and kwaśnica: On Zakopane's Krupówki or in a local tavern, be sure to try grilled oscypek and a bowl of real kwaśnica on a rib – this fat and salt are rocket fuel for any ultrarunner 🧀!
