The event in a few words

The Saint-Pol-Morlaix is one of the oldest road races in France and was created the year Pablo Picasso died, in 1973—what a bummer canvas đŸ–Œïž! Expect a race that’s not so much colorful as it is packed with runners, with thousands of French and international participants alongside you on this legendary point-to-point. See you in November in Brittany, in northern FinistĂšre, to run along waterways—and not under sheets of rain (we hope) ☔. And yes, rest assured: the Ceinture DorĂ©e coast is to the west, but the weather can be kind too. So grab your legs and go, surrounded by accomplished athletes and amateur runners, to take on this mythical race nicknamed the "Breton Diamond".

To shine like a diamond (Shine bright like a diamond, as Rihanna says), you can set off over two distances of your choice: 10 km and 22 km. The 10 km TaulĂ© - Morlaix is one of the biggest 10Ks in France (big because of the number of participants—because 10 km will always be 10 km 😅), or you can take on the star race: the half-marathon from Saint-Pol to Morlaix—which this year has become THE 22 km Saint-Pol Morlaix. Why, you ask!? The organizers wanted to offer you a more grandiose, more festive start from the Cathedral in Saint-Pol-de-LĂ©on—come on, we’re sure you can handle 900 m more. Before you sparkle ✹, you’ll need a proper warm-up, so get ready to bring it from the get-go! The routes for both races are identical and will blow you away. You’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the English Channel (without running along it) 🌊, follow the Morlaix River and the PenzĂ© watercourse, enough to escape with a single glance (not to steal the diamond—just to savor the moment đŸ€©). You’ll also take in the Breton countryside landscapes nearby, on a generally flat terrain that will take you along main roads and a few narrow spots—it takes all kinds đŸ€·! The beauty of the green spaces will make you forget the few false flats on the route, and don’t worry: the last four kilometers will be completely smooth so you can let the beasts loose!

And just as a diamond needs light to shine, a race needs people to pulse and radiate—which is why you’ll be carried along by the tunes of folk music groups from the 7 municipalities crossed by the 22 km. Whatever distance you run, you’ll finish your challenge in the heart of the city of Morlaix. Get ready: a big-day atmosphere, like a Tour de France finish on the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es, will make your mythical finish at the Morlaix Viaduct ring out—with thousands of spectators to boot (we mean it). And to top it all off, physios will be there to pamper you once your race is over. You’ll even be rewarded with a high-quality technical t-shirt—we know, Bretons are the best. 😎

We didn’t lie: this wildly charming race has everything to satisfy your thirst for sporting challenge and discovery—it’s kind of the French Youkounkoun! Once your event is done, take advantage of being right in the heart of the City of the Viaduct to wander along its alleyways and discover its cobbled streets and beautiful pondalez houses. It’s also the perfect time to treat your taste buds to the typical LĂ©on dish, kig ha farz, and the ultimate local dessert: the pavĂ© morlaisien, a pastry made with almonds and local apples—delicious 🍰. For a champion’s digestion, don’t hesitate to head a few kilometers south to the legendary Monts d’ArrĂ©e ⛰, one of Brittany’s oldest mountain ranges.

With the Saint-Pol-Morlaix race, there’s no longer any risk of losing the diamond—because from now on it will be in your heart! Yes, we do get a little sappy from time to time 😉.

4 reasons to join this race

📜 Make history
Saint-Pol-Morlaix has existed since 1973—were you even born yet? It has grown (like you) and is now one of Brittany’s best-known races, with an international label to boot! What makes it so special is the mix of top champions and less seasoned runners. 🏃
đŸžïž Iconic distances and routes
With either 10 km or 22 km on the road to choose from, you’ll be dazzled by two emblematic landmarks of the race: Saint-Paul-AurĂ©lien Cathedral in Saint-Pol-de-LĂ©on (right from the start) and the great Morlaix Viaduct for a legendary finish. You’ll discover the splendid Breton countryside and run along the PenzĂ© aber as well as the Morlaix River. Enough to impress you! You’ll even have the chance to get two times if you do the 22 km (your time over 22 km and your time over the former Half).
🏃 Flawless organization that does everything for the runner!
No stress—everything is designed so you only have to focus on your race! You can drop off your belongings at the bag check, you’ll be taken by shuttle to the start of both races, and physiotherapists will even be there to loosen up your muscles once you cross the line! What more could you ask for?
🆕 An organizer who innovates
You had to think of it—stretching the half into a 22 km to boost the race and make the start even crazier! Yes: proactive and enterprising, François Le Dissùs aims to offer runners a race that’s more thrilling each year than the one before. He was even voted best organizer in France in 2005—old news, but he hasn’t eased up since. In fact, he has organized three French Half-Marathon Championships and one 10K, a night trail, a stage trail, as well as a Mud Day. His all-round experience guarantees you a race done to perfection. 👌

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

First come, first served—so as soon as bib registration opens, go for one (or several)! Yep, you really don’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind race. 😉

If the event has to be cancelled because of that damn virus a few days beforehand, your entry will be deferred to the following year! That means you’ll automatically have a bib for the next edition—and that’s pretty cool. 👌

Book your bib quickly, as you benefit from a reduced rate until June 1st.

Now that’s interesting!

You’ll be able to pick up your bib at the Espace du Roudour, in the expo village in the neighboring town called Saint-Martin-des-Champs.

The day before the race (Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or on race day (Sunday) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

⚠ Even if it’s a pain, don’t forget your safety pins—or you might lose your bib and your performance won’t be recorded... that would be a shame! ⚠

On Friday evening, you can take part in an intramural nature run alongside the 800 m world champion and patron of the 50th edition: Pierre-Ambroise Bosse!

Yes—at the bib pick-up location, you can hop on the space shuttle headed to the start of each race: Saint-Pol-de-LĂ©on or TaulĂ©. Head to the Saint-SĂšve road in Saint-Martin-des-Champs, between the Roudour roundabout and the Binigou roundabout, to set off to infinity and beyond!

All participants will receive a high-quality technical t-shirt, a buff, and a special 50th-anniversary finisher medal.

When it comes to organization, this is top-shelf stuff!

At the start of each race, after your warm-up, the organizers will give you a bag to put your belongings in. You’ll be able to stick on a label with the same number as your bib so it can be easily returned to you at the finish-line bag drop (located at Place des Otages in Morlaix). Locker-room shuttle trucks will transport all the bags during the race so you’ll have your things as soon as you finish.

There you go—one less thing to worry about!

Yes, the organizers have thought of everything: you’ll be able to see your final time for the 22 km you ran, as well as your time over 21.1 km.
