The event in a few words

Get ready to start in the heart of Kuyavia! Włocławek Half Marathon is an event that has become a permanent fixture in the region’s running calendar, attracting runners looking for fast routes and excellent organization. The race usually starts and finishes near the modern Champions’ Hall or at the Włocławek stadium, which guarantees a sporting setting worthy of professionals. The course runs along the city’s wide streets, taking in the picturesque Vistula boulevards, so you can enjoy views of the Vistula to the accompaniment of residents’ cheers🏃‍♂️💨.

After covering 21.097 km (or the often accompanying “quarter”), Włocławek has a few suggestions for you that will speed up your return to form:

Relax by the Dam – the Włocławek dam on the Vistula is the largest structure of this kind in Poland. The sight of the powerful mass of water is impressive and helps you realize the scale of nature, which is very soothing after intense physical effort 🌊.

Wzorcownia Włocławek – if you need a bit of “shopping therapy” or simply want to eat a hearty lunch in modern surroundings, this shopping center built on the grounds of a former faience factory is the perfect spot. The architecture combining old brick with modernity is a feast for the eyes 🧱.

Henryk Sienkiewicz Park – one of the oldest city parks in Poland, located at the mouth of the Zgłowiączka River where it flows into the Vistula. It’s an ideal place for a recovery walk in the shade of centuries-old trees and among sculptures—an excellent option for “shaking out” the lactic acid in your legs 🌳.

Faience trail – Włocławek is a city of faience. After the race you can visit the interactive Browar B Culture Center, where workshops or exhibitions related to this famous blue pattern are often held. It’s a great souvenir from your trip to the competition! 🏺

For a solid glycogen top-up, I recommend restaurants located along the Boulevards. Nothing tastes better than a meal with a view of the river, especially when a heavy, hard-earned medal is dangling from your neck. Włocławek’s food scene can pleasantly surprise you with both traditional Kuyavian cuisine and modern recovery dishes 🍝.

Remember that the Włocławek Half Marathon is a great opportunity to test your fitness on flat terrain before the end of the season. Are your shoes ready for a new personal best on the Vistula? 🏁
