XRUN Wyspowy Trail 2026

This is a race whose name carries the entire philosophy of this region. XRUN Wyspowy Trail (often held around Wiśniowa or Kasina Wielka) is the essence of what is most beautiful and most demanding about the “Wyspowy” Beskid. There are no long ridgelines here—instead, there are massive, isolated mountains (islands) that you have to laboriously climb, only to plunge down into the valley a moment later and start the fun all over again.

The route is a classic "saw." The climbs are ruthless, and the descents are technical, often running through dense beech forests. It’s the perfect test of your endurance and the eccentric strength of your thigh muscles. 📈📉 On the course you’ll encounter everything—from forest tracks, through rocky gullies, all the way to open meadows with views of Lubomir, Ciecień and Wierzbanowska Góra.

After the battle on the Wyspowy Trail, the Limanowa area offers great conditions for recovery:

Kasina Station and Bike Park: If you still have strength in your arms but your legs refuse to cooperate, you can take the chairlift up to the top of Śnieżnica. The view of the route you’ve just conquered from the comfort of the lift’s cushioned seat tastes exquisite. 🚠🏔️

Astronomical Observatory on Lubomir: If the start was in Wiśniowa, a walk (very gentle!) toward Lubomir will let you stretch your legs. It’s the highest peak of the Maków Beskid (often mistaken for the Wyspowy Beskid), and a visit to the observatory is a great break from the sporting emotions. 🔭✨

Recovery in the Krzyworzeka Valley: Find a quiet spot by the stream. The sound of the water and the coolness flowing from the mountain creek are a free spa for your head and muscles. 🌊🌿
