5 km Races in the Canton of Lucerne

For 5 km races in the canton of Lucerne, the Sempacherseelauf sets the tone: a 5 km along Lake Sempach, in Sursee, designed to push your limits, have fun and run in great company 🍃. This short format is an excellent entry point into running, as you can prepare for it in just a few weeks, on country roads or in the streets of the city of Lucerne, without any special equipment. The course is simple and fast, perfect for anyone who wants a taste of competition without the pressure.

To train, alternate short speed sessions, easy runs and a bit of leg strengthening 💪. Even after a break, a few weeks of regular jogging are enough to get your good feelings back. When the 5 km becomes too comfortable, move on to the next step with the 10 km of the SwissCityMarathon Lucerne, in the heart of Lucerne, by gradually increasing your running volume 🏅.

Beyond the canton, you can find 5 km races in the 5 km races in Zurich, the 5 km races in Bern and all over Switzerland, often organized alongside a 10 km or a half marathon. These races let you share a start line with family or friends, in a relaxed atmosphere with finishes accessible to everyone 😊. The 5 km is also an excellent test to track your progress from one season to the next, with a time that is easy to compare year after year and immediate feedback as soon as you cross the finish line.

The calendar of 5 km races in Lucerne should expand over time, but you can already round out your season with the 10 km races in the canton of Lucerne, the running races in the canton of Lucerne and the 5 km races in Switzerland 📅. Choose your event, sign up and enjoy the course without putting pressure on yourself or comparing yourself to others.
