On the Trails of Montaigu

Discover the Trail de Montaigu, in the heart of the Souligny and Bouilly forests in Aube, in the Grand Est region 🌳.

Two courses await you: 15 km through the woods and winding trails, and a more demanding 27 km with the hills of Laines aux Bois and the final ascent of Montaigu, a real test of endurance 💪. Walkers are not forgotten: a hike and nordic walking are offered.

The kilometers covered in the woods and over the hills will make you savor every moment of the race, with varied landscapes that punctuate your effort all the way.

The Trail de Montaigu: nature, effort, and pleasure await! 🥂

The Aube belongs to those who rise to run!

Ready to leave the pavement for new horizons? The Aube (10), once a part of the province of Champagne, is an unexpected playground for all nature running enthusiasts. Here, you don't come just for the stopwatch but for total immersion in a landscape shaped by history and water. Whether you're a trail regular or a newcomer, the department offers varied routes that will test your calves while delighting your eyes.

A playground between Orient and Champagne

The trail calendar in the Aube enjoys incredible geographical diversity. Forget monotony, you're going to tread the clay soils of the Forest of Orient, slalom between the vineyard rows of the Côte des Bar, and climb the limestone plateaus of the Pays d'Othe 🌲.

The technical challenge: flat... but not just that!

Don't be deceived by the appearances of the Champenoise plain. If you’re looking for positive elevation gain 📈, you'll need to turn towards the southern part of the department. The trails there are sometimes technical, especially after a local shower (the weather can be playful!), making your footing slip and the effort much more intense than it seems. It's the ideal place to find your next challenge and test your endurance against the short but steep hills that dot the course.

Run at the heart of Aube's heritage

Running in the Aube also means taking a journey through time. Between strides, you might catch sight of the famous timber-framed churches or the reflections of the artificial lakes that make the Regional Natural Park of the Forest of Orient famous 🦢. Did you know? You're running on the lands that inspired Renoir in Essoyes or the illustrious Camille Claudel in Nogent-sur-Seine. Here, conviviality is not just a word. We run for fun, often finishing with a glass of Champagne or a local specialty (the essential Andouillette of Troyes, for the bravest!) 🥂.

Ready to pin on your bib?

Whether you're coming from Troyes, Romilly-sur-Seine, or much further 📍, the Aube awaits you for an authentic and refreshing experience at the heart of the Grand Est. The department is full of events that make the community vibrate: set off on the technical trails of the Trail de Montaigu, come test your speed on La Panadière, or enjoy the friendly atmosphere of La P'tite Dum. And for those who see big, the Trail l'Aube des Templiers promises to be an epic challenge not to be missed! 🗓️

All that's left is to choose the distance that excites you and book a bib to validate your training.
