2026 New York City Marathon Results

The New York City Marathon is the world’s largest road race, a 42.195 km journey across the five boroughs of New York, from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to Central Park. Discover everything you need to know about this legendary event and find the results from the latest edition! 🗽

The New York City Marathon isn’t just a race—it’s an entire city that stops to run! 🗽 Every year in early November, the New York Road Runners (NYRR) organization puts on the most-run event on the global calendar, starting from Staten Island, at the foot of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge 🌉. Runners set off to the sound of the cannon and Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” 🎶, before crossing Brooklyn amid the passion of its working-class neighborhoods, then Queens, to climb the Queensboro Bridge and dive into the buzz of First Avenue in Manhattan 🌆. A brief foray into the Bronx via the Willis Avenue Bridge comes before the final return to Manhattan, for a legendary finish right in the heart of Central Park 🍁.

Born in 1970 under the impetus of Fred Lebow with a few dozen runners looping around Central Park, the New York City Marathon changed scale in 1976 by adopting its current route through the city’s five boroughs. Since then, it has established itself as one of the seven World Marathon Majors 🏆, now bringing together more than 50,000 finishers from all over the world and millions of spectators lining the course from Bay Ridge to 5th Avenue 👏. The climax of the show, the final straight is run amid the autumn colors of Central Park, between Tavern on the Green and the finish line 🏁.

The 2026 edition will take place on Sunday, November 1 📅, a special vintage as it marks the 50th anniversary of the five-borough course, with a slight route change in the Bronx for the occasion—the first in fifteen years. To follow the live results, it’s right here: TCS New York City Marathon
