Paleotrail 2026

The event in a few words

A trail with a Paleolithic vibe, does that get you fired up? Head to Saint-CĂ©saire in Charente-Maritime. The atmosphere won’t actually be warm—it’ll be very cold đŸ„¶ this December and even rainy ☔, but you’ll see, it’s nice too. Still, get ready to shiver, slip and fight—but otherwise the Paleotrail is really so freakin’ good! 😁

This event is packed with emotions but also with challenges, so let’s go—make your choice! On the program: two hikes of 7 km and 12 km and no fewer than six trail races đŸ˜± with different characteristics: four “classic” races of 8 km, 14 km, 23 km and 40 km, a canicross trail đŸ¶ of 8 km to run with man’s best friend, and finally a night trail 🌙 of 8 km as well.

The course is rugged: it’s going to be slippery đŸ€•! So those who came with their four-legged friend may have made the right choice to help each other out. In some sections, you won’t be running anymore—you’ll be taking on a true obstacle course. You’ll have to battle through the mud in the heart of a wild and damp nature. Next come village crossings such as Saint Sauvant, Saint Sulpice de Cognac or Dompierre sur Charente. You’ll also run alongside vineyards 🍇 before plunging into woods đŸŒČ and undergrowth. You’ll tread on all kinds of terrain: your running shoes will see every color!

You’ll set off at night depending on the race, which will add a bit more difficulty to a run that’s already full of thrills đŸ’Ș. At the finish, luckily, you’ll be able to recharge in an authentic atmosphere around a meal prepared by the organizers.

And if that wasn’t enough, hit the roads of the region to stroll around and savor the local specialties. On the menu: a small glass of cognac that feels good after the day’s adventures, and the famous tourteau fromagĂ©. 😋

It’s beautiful, it’s paleo!
