Weather alert 🚨: an avalanche of sneakers is forecasted in Toussieu and it's time to get into Touss'O'Trail! 💨 At the end of April, right in the middle of spring 🌸, the East of Lyon will become the stage for your exploits 🎭. Here, we don't play supporting roles: the Toussieu Team Trail association has prepared a menu that will make your soles burn 👟. Forget disaster scenarios where the hero is late; in Toussieu, the only drama is staying in bed 🛌 while the pack is already shouting: "Come on, all to the trail!" 📢.
For the figures, it's solid, not cinema 🍿: a 12 km (250 mD+) for those who want to play speed demons between road and trails 🏎️, and a 25 km (600 mD+) for real trail lovers not afraid to get dirty 👕. It's like choosing between a James Bond sprint to catch a train 🚂 and a wild crossing like The Revenant, but with a much nicer refreshment at the finish 🍌 (promise).
But the Touss'O'Trail is also paradise for walkers 🥾 and kids! 👶 With a nature hike of 10 km (150 mD+), you can trade the clock for active contemplation 👀, while the youngest take off at noon on courses ranging from 400 m to 800 m 🍭. No need for ice axes here 🏔️, the routes are not very technical, perfect for releasing power without ending up in a tumble at the foot of the descent 🪨. The markers will be your Ariadne's thread to avoid ending up at the other end of the Rhône 🧭. The aim is for you to feast your eyes and enjoy (or suffer, your choice! 🤪), not to wander like a tourist without GPS 🗺️. You'll pass through the villages of Mions and Saint-Pierre de Chandieu and will have the chance to run alongside the Ozon for a refreshing moment because if you're going to visit the suburbs of Lyon, you might as well do it right! 👍
It will also be the time to prove that your energy is more inexhaustible than an Aston Martin's fuel tank ⚡. Between woods and pavement, trails and single-tracks you will rediscover the simple pleasure of trail running. In Toussieu, we run, we sweat 🥵, and above all, we savor every meter 👌.
Once you cross the finish line, you'll be in the promised land of gastronomy 🍷. Don't leave without having honored the Rosette of Lyon or a pink praline tart, a specialty that will match the color of your cheeks after the last hill 🥧. It’s the mandatory "happy end" for your calves before heading home triumphant 🦵. So, ready for take-off? Because in Toussieu, if you're not Touss'O'Trail, you're not in the game! 🏃♂️
Message from the organizer:
"After many years without a trail around Toussieu, we are pleased to announce the 1st edition of ToussOTrail. The paths of Toussieu, Mions, and Saint-Pierre de Chandieu are playful, and you will have much pleasure discovering them. We are already imagining where the podium finishes will happen 🤩. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the cardiology federation to help families and also to work towards prevention. We expect many of you! Catering is available on-site (by reservation at registration) organized by the Festival Committee (Lyon menu!)"
Ready for 25 km of trail running in the suburbs of Lyon? 🦁
You will head towards Mions by the paths before returning to Toussieu on relatively flat trails. You will find the 12 km route before leaving it again near the Château de Chandieu 🏰. A series of climbs will keep you alert. Indeed, 600 mD+, is no joke. You might even have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Château de Rajat at km 13. You will then follow the Ozon 💦 to take a good breath of fresh air. You will start the return to Toussieu at km 17, but keep your eyes open to observe the Old Mill of the Gué de l'Ozon at km 20. You will join the 12 km route for the last 5 km and cross the finish line after 25 km of effort 🏁. The finish line refreshment will be well-deserved! 🥤
Your 12 km trail will start on Rue des Acacias in Toussieu next to the stadium. Very quickly, after the Saint-Pierre church, you will head towards the Montée du Château and then proceed to Saint-Pierre de Chandieu. You will take the trails, pass by the Pop Corn Labyrinth 🛝, and begin your first nice climb 📈. You will tread the surroundings of the Chandieu castle, the highest point of your race at 326 m. Savoye will welcome you at km 9 before bringing you back to Toussieu to cross the finish line 🏁.
