Looking for a summer body for the start of the summer holidays? ๐ The Alpe Adria Ultra Trail is perfectly timed for you. By starting your preparation in April, you will be perfectly sculpted for the race and the summer season โ๏ธ.
Basically, the Alpe Adria Ultra Trail is a race for mountain enthusiasts, where you will alternate between forest and rocky passages in a unique natural setting ๐ณ. You can slip into the shoes of a little Italian deer ๐ฆ and trek through the mountains of Friuli for an entire day ๐๏ธ. To maintain the event's essence and fully enjoy the sporting experience, the trail is also very intimate, with quotas of 100 people maximum set for the 27 km and 48 km.
On the sporting side, the organizers have put a lot of thought into it and have prepared 4 legendary courses for you: a 10 km, a 19 km, a 27 km and a 48 km ๐. Each of these routes will let you discover the local fauna and flora, with an intensive and prolonged effort ๐ฅต. For newcomers to the discipline, the "Alpe Adria Saisera Summer" will be the route to choose. With its 10.2 km and 423 mD+, it allows for a discovery of the region and has the advantage of being free of overly technical sections. You can even invite your four-legged friend ๐ถ to the event: itโs free for him, and he'll be a road companion to talk to during these hours of effort ๐ฃ๏ธ. If you are looking for a more challenging track without going over the 20 km mark, the "Alpe Adria Pellarini Trail" will suit you better. Get your thighs ready and eyes ๐, the elevation is quite steep and offers a splendid view once at the top ๐๏ธ. Finally, for experienced trail runners, the 27 km and 48 km courses will meet all expectations. Effort, scenery, significant elevation change ๐, and long distance, all elements are there for you to fully enjoy the Italian landscapes ๐ฎ๐น. To make the adventure last longer, the organizers also planned accommodation in the heart of the natural park ๐ . For a few extra euros, a large cottage is available from the organizers, where camaraderie and the running spirit ๐ reign. So don't wait too long if you want to participate in this great temporary colocation, spots go quickly ๐๏ธ.
Between us, this race is also the ideal excuse to impress everyone at the beginning of summer, then eat as you please for the rest of the holidays ๐คค. Especially since once the running is over, you'll find yourself in a region rich in gastronomic specialties. Sweet with gubana, savory ๐ with prosciutto di San Daniele, or even vegetarian ๐ฑ with frico, you will surely find happiness among the local preparations. Your trail will be the perfect excuse to enjoy without moderation ๐คช. Once your belly is full, you can also let yourself be seduced by local activities. Climbing, hiking, mountain biking, you can easily turn your trail running vacation into a multisport week. If you're more of a fan of architecture and modern cities, the city of Udine and its beautiful Piazza Libertร are just an hour away and will not leave you indifferent ๐. Heading a bit further south, you can also be charmed by Venice and its famous gondolas ๐ถ. In case your soulmate is still hesitant about joining you in your crazy running project, you'll have a perfect argument to motivate them to accompany you ๐.
And there you go, you now know everything about this legendary Italian trail. All you have to do is lace up your shoes, and you'll be ready. We're nice, we'll even give you a word that might come in handy in case of growing appetite ๐: "rifornimento" meaning refreshment in Italian ๐.
If this route is named "ultra", it's not for nothing! On this course, you will cover the equivalent of more than a marathon in distance and two-thirds of the Kilimanjaro in height ๐คฏ. All in one day... So if you are ultra-athletic, ultra-performing, and above all ultra-motivated, look no further, this is the race for you ๐.
The "Jof Trail" is the milder version of the "Ultra Jof", but it's still no pushover ๐ฅธ. The cut-off time of 13 hours is not just for information; it's a true challenge. The 2,100 mD+ will really take it out of you, and you'll be glad to see the finish line appear in the distance ๐. Luckily for you, the scenery along the route will almost make you forget the effort ๐ฅ
The "Pellarini Trail" is like a half marathon, with a bit more elevation ๐คช. However, we advise you not to aim for the same times as on flat ground โฑ๏ธ, to avoid disappointment. The little bonus of this race is also its point gain for the UTMB World Series. With this course, you prepare for the future while enjoying the present ๐ช.
