The event in a few words

Ahhhh, Argentina: the tango 💃, the asado 🥩, Lionel Messi… and above all 🤔 THE CRUCE TANDILIA! 🤩

Don’t forget your best dancing trail shoes and head to Tandil, in the province of Buenos Aires 🇦🇷. Speaking of the setting, it's stunning. You'll tread the sierras of Tandil, the oldest mountains in Argentina 🏔️. We’re not talking about the dinosaur era 🦕, who, by comparison, were born yesterday, but 2.2 billion years of age, which is quite something! To give you an idea, there was no stable life on Earth at that time, as there wasn’t really any oxygen in the atmosphere. We guarantee that these rocks, as old as they are, will make you feel more alive than ever. Open your lungs 🫁 wide because now that we have this pure air, it'll help you finish your trail in style. On the agenda: a 100% natural setting, between millennial rocks 🪨, wild vegetation 🌿, and landscapes that make you want to grab your phone every 5 minutes 📸. But beware, this is not a Sunday stroll: it climbs steeply ⛰️, descends technically, and you better avoid twisting an ankle trying to be an influencer 😅. The bonus? In January, while the northern hemisphere shivers under the snow ❄️, you'll be enjoying the Argentine summer tanning in the sun ☀️. Smart, isn’t it? 😎

And since Argentines love to give more, here you have not one, but four distances to choose from 🎁. The 8 km to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the 15 km to step it up: these two formats are only on Saturday, perfect to indulge without too much pressure. La vida loca indeed 🤙 (well, almost). But if you want the full experience, aim for the 30 km or the 50 km: two days of effort, half on Saturday, half on Sunday 🥵. The ranking 🥇 will be the sum of your two times. It’s up to you whether to go all out from the first stage 🤪 or play the consistency card ⚖️ over the 2 days. And the real twist? ✨ You'll be able to earn a time reduction with the "Tandil Vertical". Yes, your eyes 👀 aren’t deceiving you, you read that right. The organization offers you a mini-time-trial event against-the-clock ⌚️ on Friday to reduce your final time across the 4 weekend races. Those Argentines are really generous! 🥰 You'll have 5 minutes to cover 500 meters. How does it work? Well, for instance, if you clock a time of 2 min 20 during the "Tandil Vertical", you’ll get a bonus of 5 minutes minus your time, resulting in a total of 2 min 40 off your reference time at "Cruce Tandilia". If your time is over 4 min, the bonus is capped at 1 min. Sounds easy, right? Well, not quite! "The Vertical" means climbing 314 steps 📈 leading to the Castillo Morisco 🏰 at the top of the Parque Independencia. 50 m of elevation gain over 500 m is enough to make your heart race 🫀. That's the love of the sport! 😉 The courses will remain secret until a few days before the start! 🤫 Only the altitudes 🔝 and the distances between refreshments ↔️ will be known. A little whiff of adventure, like Indiana Jones 🧭, making this race unforgettable. You can't preview, you can't cheat: just run and enjoy. Total fair play 🙌. At the finish line, your medal will whisper a quote that sums it all up: "If adventure seems dangerous, try routine, it’s deadly." 💥.

But be careful, Tandil, isn’t just about sports… It's also a city where you'll definitely eat well! 🤤 Besides being generous, they are also excellent cooks 🧑‍🍳 in Argentina. The legendary Época de Quesos 🧀 will offer you cheese platters to die for, iconic empanadas will be waiting for you at Al Ver Verás 🥟 not forgetting the craft beers from Calabaza and Tandilia 🍺. And for the aperitif? Local gin at Campo 🍸 or wine from the Cordón Blanco 🍷 cellar (to be consumed in moderation). You got it, in Tandil, your stomach will be as much in celebration as your legs! 🦵 And if you want to extend the experience, the city is full of walks and incredible spots 🗺️ among which: the Piedra Movediza 🪨, symbol of Tandil, the Cerro Centinela ⛰️ with horseback rides 🐴 as well as the Dique del Fuerte 🚴‍♂️ for a break by the lake. And if you want even more, we offer ziplines 🎢, suspension bridges 🌉, and rappelling in the surroundings to load up on adrenaline and thrilling sensations! 💪

So, are you ready for the adventure? 🧳
