Historic monuments, paradise beaches 🏖️, urban landscapes, world-famous bridges 🌏 all in one single city? 🤯
It's possible, and that's where you'll drop your suitcase and lace up your sneakers in March! 👟 Welcome to the third largest city in Vietnam: Da Nang 📍. If this is your first marathon in Southeast Asia, you won't be disappointed! The Da Nang International Marathon is a benchmark and is sure to impress you! 🤩 Well, we must warn you, such a race is deserved: start at 3 AM 😅. They often say the early bird catches the worm, but here the finish line belongs to those who run early! 😂 You won't regret your pre-dawn wake-up for long as the sunrise and the pink-orange hues 🌅 will color the sky, giving the race a very special atmosphere 🤗.
Once the morning mist has cleared 🌁, you can enjoy the course to the fullest! 🥰 Marathon, half-marathon, 5 km, or even kids races 👧, every runner will discover one or more wonders of Da Nang 🌇. The further you go, the more you see! 😉 And it's a true sightseeing tour that awaits you! 🗺️ From Bien Dong Park 🌴, an oasis of greenery in the middle of the city, you will run along My Khe beach, one of the six most beautiful beaches in the world (yes, really) 😍. You'll probably be tempted to stop and take photos, but remember, you have a timer to beat 😬. You can even try to set a new PB in your record at the Da Nang International Marathon! 💪 You'll run straight lines past monuments: Apec Park 🌳, Cham Sculpture Museum, Dragon Bridge 🐉, Han Market or the Linh Ung Pagoda 🪷. To reach all these points, you'll cross numerous bridges: Tran Thi Ly, Thuan Phuoc, and Man Quang. Da Nang didn't earn its nickname "the city of bridges" for nothing 🤓.
Despite the beauty of the course, there will be a few bridges left to discover ☝️. You'll need to extend your stay after the race to avoid leaving unsatisfied! 😋 With your medal around your neck and aching legs 🏅, you can visit the Golden Bridge, the city's most iconic bridge ⭐️. You've probably seen it on Instagram 📸, that famous golden bridge supported by two huge stone hands: much more impressive in real life than in photos! 🥹 Beware if you're afraid of heights: you'll be 1,000 meters above sea level 🫣. For those truly passionate about grandeur 🫨, head to the Linh Ung Pagoda and its 72-meter-high marble Buddha statue! ⬆️ You'll feel very small next to it 🤏. After all these emotions, you'll need to indulge in local delicacies 🍽️. The most famous of these, the Mi Quang, is made of large rice noodles 🍚 in a broth based on chicken, pork, or shrimp, accompanied by fresh vegetables 🥕.
The Da Nang International Marathon will dazzle your runner's eyes ✨ in search of a "race-cation" (a race in a vacation setting)! 🏃♂️
