From the Tatras to the Danube - Relay Race 2026

The route is 345 kilometers long and runs from the picturesque, rugged Jasné Pľyt in the Low Tatras (Demänovská Valley) all the way to the very heart of Bratislava, straight to the majestic Danube.

Teams (usually 9- or 12-person) run non-stop day and night, splitting the course into 36 unique stages. Spectacular mountain climbs, night sections through sleeping Slovak villages, incredible эмоtions, total sleep deprivation, and cheering from the windows of the team cars🚗 await you! When, after dozens of hours of struggle, laughter, and pushing your own limits, you all cross the finish line together in Bratislava, it’s time for a big, well-deserved celebration. Well-earned relaxation at Bratislava Castle: A monumental, four-sided fortress towers over the city. A walk through its baroque gardens is a great way to stretch your legs, and the view of the Danube and the border with Austria stays with you for a long time 🏰.

A romantic evening in the Old Town : The charming, narrow streets of Bratislava’s old town are full of atmospheric pubs. Be sure to find the famous “Čumil” statue (the peeper coming out of a manhole) – a photo with it is a must-have souvenir 📸.

Sunset on the SNP Bridge with the UFO tower: For unforgettable impressions, take the elevator up to the observation deck of the UFO restaurant, suspended high above the Danube. The panorama of the city lit up at night looks phenomenal from there 🛸.

Traditional bryndzové halušky: After burning thousands of calories in the relay, you have to eat Slovakia’s iconic national dish – small potato-dough dumplings with runny bryndza cheese and crispy bacon cracklings, washed down with local craft beer or Kofola 🥓🍺.
