Geneeeraaal aleeeert! ⏰
If for you the month of September only rhymes with "it’s back to school 😭", "shopping for supplies 📓" and "back to work 💼", we’ve found the best way to hack your calendar (and improve it at the same time)! 🏴☠️ We’re taking you to the Drôme for the Gend'Trail de Barbières, a meetup that will shake you up and prove that trail running packs a lot more punch under the sun of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region than stuck in traffic jams ☀️. So leave your couch, grab your sneakers, and get ready to make your soles smoke on terrain that will quickly get your legs up to temperature! 🏃♂️
Two formats will be offered so everyone can find the right fit 🦶. For fans of sharp accelerations and pure speed, the Barbières 10 km offers a punchy formula that will make sprinters (and everyone else) cough up a lung 🚀. If you’re more wolf-hungry and want a real challenge to sink your teeth into 🫦, the Barbières 20 km is waiting for you, ready and steady, for a bit more distance and WAY more fun! 😁 Barbières is the real French countryside! 🥖 You’ll wind through nature, on rocky paths with breathtaking scenery all around you 🏞️. Not enough to take the air out of your lungs, we hope 🙃. You still have a finish line to cross! 😍
Your mindset is set to warrior mode ⚔️ but without the brawling. We forget the anonymous human tides of the capitals; here, you run in direct contact with the vegetation and a local crowd that knows how to raise its voice to push you to your limits. 🗣️ The welcome is warm, the course marking is clean, and the overall energy makes you feel like you’re racing for qualification in a grand prix 🏆. Yep, in full star mode! 😎
"What to do after the race?" you’ll ask us 🍪. The question is answered right at the finish line with the famous final refreshment station waiting to put a hard stop to hypoglycemia. Once you’ve come to your senses and devoured half the organizers’ tables, enjoy the area to debrief your time with the other finishers or treat yourself to a digestive stroll at the foot of the Vercors foothills. 🏔️ It’s the perfect deal: sweat, a big dose of pleasure in the morning, and a shot of nature to recover for the rest of the day 🥂. You can also taste the local pogne 🍞 (for recovery, there’s nothing better), as well as the region’s artisanal honey and chocolate!
What are you still doing here? Go grab your bib—you won’t regret it! 🤓
