Run in the heart of the green County Donegal on Irelandโs north-western edge! The Donegal Half Marathon takes place in the picturesque town of Letterkenny ๐โ๏ธ. Runners can choose the classic half-marathon distance (21.1 km) as well as relay races. The route leads through the townโs streets and rolling, green countryside, while the intimate atmosphere and warm Irish cheering along the course add incredible energy.
After crossing the finish line, County Donegal โ located on the famous Wild Atlantic Way route โ delights with rugged nature and a Celtic vibe! Head to Glenveagh National Park โ take a walk along the shore of Lough Veagh all the way to a fairytale castle surrounded by lush gardens ๐ฐ. Visit Tropical World in Letterkenny with your family โ tropical glasshouses, a butterfly house and a mini-zoo that will enchant the youngest visitors ๐ฆ And then set off for Slieve League (Sliabh Liag) โ monumental, some of the highest ocean cliffs in Europe, almost three times higher than the famous Cliffs of Moher! ๐
To end the day, we recommend a hearty Irish Stew (a lamb and vegetable stew) served with homemade soda bread (Soda Bread), as well as fresh Atlantic mussels and oysters. A running success is worth celebrating with a pint of creamy Guinness or a glass of local Irish whiskey ๐ฒ๐บ.
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
