The event in a few words

This is one of the most prestigious races in the region, combining athletic competition with a deep patriotic message. The International Run of the Defenders of Płock 1920 commemorates the heroic defense of the city against the Bolshevik army. The 10 km route (usually two 5 km loops) runs through the charming corners of the Old Town and picturesque paths along the Vistula escarpment, making it one of the most beautiful road races in Poland. 🌅🇵🇱

After an exhausting run, Płock offers unique places for recovery and relaxation:

Tumskie Hill and the Cathedral: This is the perfect place to unwind after the start. A walk through the city’s historic heart with a view of the wide Vistula Valley lets you calmly walk off the effort amid top-class monuments. ⛪🍃

Tony Halik Pier: A unique structure running along the river’s current. A stroll along the pier is an excellent form of rest—the breeze off the water and the closeness of nature are soothing, and the local café offers well-deserved drinks with a view of the river. 🌊☕

Tumska Street and the Old Market Square: After the run, be sure to visit the heart of the city. In places such as Browar Tumski or a local bistro on Tumska Street, you can replenish calories with a hearty lunch. The Town Hall on the Square and the surrounding tenement houses create a unique atmosphere. 🍲🍻

The Run of the Defenders of Płock is a unique opportunity to feel the spirit of history and test your fitness on a route that delights with its views. Ready to take your place on the starting line in the “Hero City”? 🏁
