In Tours, the city of a thousand white turrets, they also run on feats of strength. Since 2025, the city has been lending its riverbanks and its châteaux to IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole - Loire Valley, a race between the Loire and Indre-et-Loire in the 70.3 format: 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, and 21.1 km run 🏊.
The scenery, meanwhile, doesn’t change: a single-loop swim in the Cher, with the start not far from the Parc des Expositions. The bike heads south of the Loire via Savonnières and Lignières-de-Touraine, with a pass by the Château d'Ussé 🏰, before Azay-le-Rideau and Ballan-Miré. The run strings together two laps along the Cher, with a detour via Île Balzac and Lac de la Bergeonnerie.
Once you’ve crossed the line, Touraine puts on a feast: pork rillons, Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine cheese, and Tours nougat 🍽️. To help it all go down, head to the gardens of the Château de Villandry. In Tours, we’ll keep going round in circles, and nobody will complain 😏.
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
