The event in a few words

Come take on the Gavarres trails 🫵.

CicloBrava is the Costa Brava in a 2-wheel version 🚲. You’re heading to Girona, the Mecca of gravel, internationally renowned for its routes and its cycling vibe. Over there, bike cafés and cycle shops are everywhere ☕️. In short, it’s the dream setting for an international event centered on bicycles of all kinds. The Sea Otter Europe festival understood that well and has been organizing for more than 10 years the biggest European cycling gathering 🕺. Gravel, sportive rides, trial (not to be confused with trail running 😬), MTB and mountain biking—there’s something for every profile and every set of quads 🔥.

But within this festival, one discipline stands out: road cycling 🚴. It shines in particular through the CicloBrava, which takes you across the most beautiful roads in Catalonia. Mountains, seaside roads, speed and competition—everything is there for a unique race 💨. Without ever going to an extreme level, the routes will throw a spanner in the works 🪵 and leave you with the taste of intense effort in your mouth. Pay close attention if you want to catch all the details of the natural landscapes you’ll cross! 😌

In September, no fewer than 3 events are available for you to choose from at CicloBrava ✌️. 70 km, 100 km or 150 km—you can play it safe, or go all-in 😳. The playground is royal in the province of Girona: winding roads, viewpoints that make you look up, and stone villages that confirm you didn’t hit the road for nothing 😎. The 70 km with its 800 mD+ takes you over coastal climbs like Santa Pellaia, Madremanya or Montjuïc. Ideal for eye candy (and for your legs, which will thank you for not choosing a longer distance 😮‍💨). If you set off on the 100 km with its 1,000 mD+, you can say goodbye to comfort—we’re taking on the real athletic challenge. Sure, the views will still be there, but you may be too focused on the handlebars to enjoy them as much 🌅. 100 km is already a serious trek. Usually at that kind of distance, people favor a scooter over a bike 🛵—but that’s up to you... To finish, the last event is made up of 150 km and 2,000 mD+. Yes, yes—the equivalent of a real stage of the Tour de France 😅. There’s no messing around at Ciclobrava. Follow your training plan to perfection if you don’t want to blow up after 35 km 😉. But know that whatever you choose, the sandy scent of Catalonia and the Mediterranean pines will be with you all the way 🎯.

And after the effort, the adventure is only just beginning. Right there on site, the  Sea Otter Europe festival continues with more than 500 brands present and 70,000 visitors throughout the weekend 🥳. In short, if you’re a two-wheel enthusiast, you’ll find what you’re looking for 😌. Then, don’t forget you’re right in the center of Girona : stroll through the Barri Vell (the old town), cross the colorful houses of the Onyar, climb up to the ramparts of the Passeig de la Muralla (if you’ve still got a bit of juice left in your legs 😅), or take a break at the Girona Cathedral to calm things down 🏰. And if you’ve done the rounds of the local capital, you can hop in the car and head toward Barcelona or Lloret Del Mar🚗. We’ll let you choose between nightclubs and a caliente vibe or tasty discoveries and cultural ones in the country’s economic capital 🕺. In Spain, you’re spoiled for choice: dance, ride, eat... or all at the same time ✅.

Alright, enough Brava-do—let’s get to work and train those quads! 🦵

4 reasons to join this race

The playground of the peloton pros 🚴
The Gavarres massif is certainly not a training ground chosen at random by professional riders: mild weather year-round and a variety of terrain make it a playground that’s never the same twice. You’ll ride where some train all year long, between pines and oaks 🌲, far from city centers and urban sprawl.
An international-scale cycling festival 🎪
The race is only a gateway: on site, Sea Otter Europe brings together more than 500 brands and draws 70,000 visitors over the weekend. Road, MTB, gravel, gear demos, activities... Whatever your preferred discipline, you’ll find plenty to keep the fun going after the finish 🥳.
Girona, not to be missed 🏙️
The finish takes place right in the heart of the city, just steps from the Barri Vell and the colorful houses along the Onyar. A perfect way to chain effort and a cultural stroll without getting back in the car, between ramparts, the cathedral, and Catalan alleyways 🏰.
3 distances, 3 challenges 💥
70 km, 100 km or 150 km—you’ll definitely find a race that fits what you’re looking for. You can choose discovery, a first challenge, or the real test ⚔️. In any case, whatever your goal, you’ll fly along Catalan roads at full speed in a unique setting 😍.
