We're excited to see you in <a href="kavval://pages/76475ad8-0e58-4f0e-a377-2e5984507e25" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">October</a> 2024, in the <a href="kavval://tags/capitals-big-cities" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Portuguese capital</a> 🇵🇹, for one of the most beautiful and renowned marathons: the Lisbon Marathon (also known as EDP Lisbon Marathon 🌞). Around 20,000 people 😲 gather each year for this autumn race 🍂, considered a flagship event of the IAAF during this season 🍁. You'll be in the company of runners from all around the globe 🌎 across 3 race formats: a <a href="kavval://pages/fa5fca16-7928-4e73-8624-e83ab2cf155b" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">marathon</a>, a <a href="kavval://pages/8b86cbfe-127a-4034-9590-d7e3a0a5351c" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">half-marathon</a>, and a mini-marathon of 8.5 km finishing at the famous <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pra%C3%A7a_do_Com%C3%A9rcio" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Commerce Square</a>, under the arch of the <a href="https://www.visitlisboa.com/en/places/ajuda-national-palace" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Palace</a>, for a unique finish <a href="kavval://tags/city" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">in the city center</a> 🏁.The event is highly sought-after and coveted by runners, so don't wait to register for the next edition 🗓️. The course features paved roads, with very little elevation 😮‍💨, starting from <a href="https://www.cascais-portugal.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cascais</a>, for the marathon. The 42 km run is along the <a href="kavval://tags/seaside" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">seaside</a> 🌊 and the <a href="https://www.britannica.com/place/Tagus-River" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tagus River</a> by the Lisbon coast 🌁. You can watch the sunrise over the shore ☀️. The landscapes are exceptional! Quaint little houses line the course and accompany you all the way to the city 🏠.As for the atmosphere, the 2023 edition was memorable! 🔥 The first 30 kilometers were filled with supporters 📣. To top it all off, the course took a small detour to the beach 🏝️, where dozens of volunteers waved large flags to represent the many participating countries! 🤩 You can only imagine how the temperature soared at the Commerce Square finish line, shared with the <a href="kavval://events/a32da8af-d38b-4523-b0a1-08307429d3a7" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">half-marathon</a>. Speaking of temperature, don't forget a good cap 🧢, because it's not just the supporters that are hot... The weather is too! Interestingly, in Portugal, in October, it can get quite warm! 👊 Fortunately, there are cool stations set up along the route to help you cool down! 💦The Portuguese capital is full of monuments and sights worth seeing once the race is over 🏛️. The <a href="kavval://tags/city" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">city</a> is dotted with many beautiful religious buildings and medieval fortifications, like the <a href="https://www.lisbon.net/belem-tower" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Belém Tower</a>. You can also relax on one of the many beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean: after exertion comes relaxation 💝. Take full advantage of the city's affordable restaurants! And don't forget to try the delicious <a href="https://www.afar.com/magazine/iconic-portuguese-dishes-and-where-to-try-them" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Portuguese specialties</a> 🥧, like bacalhau or the famous pastel de nata.So, are you ready for a welcome pasta party 🍝?
