Here Radio Montel 🎙️
This is what you'd hear if Patrick Montel covered the event you're about to register for: the Monteils Trail 🤩. This charming little village is nestled in the heart of Aveyron, in the Occitanie region, where lush valleys meet wild causses ⛰️. In May, nature is in full bloom, temperatures are ideal, and your legs are already eager to start running🕺. In short, all the conditions are set for a great day of (Mon)trail 🏃♂️.
On the agenda: 2 distances 👯♀️. The 10 km with its 400 m elevation gain can be enjoyed at a fun pace, perfect for picking up speed without overdoing it 🚦. The 20 km with its 800 m elevation gain is for those who enjoy climbs, challenges, and just the right amount of burning thighs. This route remains manageable, so you can sign up for your first 20 km 👶. And for those who prefer to admire the views rather than clock times, the 10 km can be done as a hike, allowing you to fully enjoy the landscapes at your own pace 🥁. No matter which trail you decide to conquer, the atmosphere is guaranteed! 💥 A family-friendly and welcoming trail, it appeals to young and old alike 🧑🧑🧒🧒. Why? Well, because while mom sets her PB on 10 km, the kids will be racing 800 meters! 🐣
From the first kilometers, the adventure takes you between the Causse and Ségala (nothing to do with Hélène, it's a natural region 🌱), two iconic areas of Aveyron 📍. You progress in the Aveyron valley, among forest paths, rolling trails, and open panoramas over the unspoiled countryside 🌾. Monteils is a village with about a hundred inhabitants 🐮. Here, everyone knows each other, everyone cheers each other on, and the atmosphere is as warm as the refreshment stations are generous 🫂. While some chase personal records, others savor the moment... isn't that the perfect formula for a successful trail? 🤝
And once the finish line is crossed? The race continues. Take advantage of spring to let your heart rate drop in the medieval alleys of Monteils. Just a few minutes away, the Gorges of Aveyron offer you a vast playground: mountain biking, canoeing, hiking... or a quick recovery with a (very) refreshing dip in the Aveyron 💦, a chance to test a 100% natural cryotherapy 😅. If you prefer heritage, head to Najac, its impressive fortress, and village listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France 😍. Perfect for ending the day with stars in your eyes and well-used legs.
