The event in a few words

On the agenda, two choices: either a 5-day adventure or a marathon of madness. For the adventure: 5 stages of running, cold, and admiration ๐Ÿคฉ. The Northern Light Ultra sets you a course on an Arctic ice road, under the Northern Lights ๐ŸŒˆ. You can do it on foot or on skis, your choice! So, prepare your March, with a ticket to the northwest of Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. This skyrunning course starts from Fort McPherson ๐Ÿ“. In total, a 290 km course along the Peel River. A piece of advice, bring your warmest gear ๐Ÿงฃ, because the weather promises to be chilly amid the snow. โ„๏ธ Even though it may seem impossible, temperatures could drop to -44ยฐCโ€ฆ ๐Ÿฅถ Remember, your gear will accompany you during your race, so prepare your sled to pack them properly ๐Ÿ›ท.

There are quite a few kilometers, but they come with gifts from the sky ๐ŸŒŒ. So while we recommend you sleep at night, be sure to also observe the magnificent Northern Lights during your journey ๐Ÿ˜ป. In a multi-day format, this event offers a packed schedule ๐Ÿ“†. On the first day, beware of the temperature, which might surprise you ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ. But if you're properly equipped, you'll be fine! โญ๏ธ Once you've checked your gear, it's race time ๐Ÿƒ. Starting from Fort McPherson, it's 48 km heading north โฌ†๏ธ. After a first night in your tent, we hope you'll be ready to set off again โšก๏ธ. The second stage is 55 km, running alongside the Peel River. On the third day, you'll cover 45 km to reach the historic town of Aklavik ๐Ÿ“. Make sure to rest well for the penultimate challenge, where mental strength will be your best ally ๐Ÿ’•. Indeed, 100 km are on the agenda, making this fourth day the longest stage of the program. After that, enjoy the last night under the Canadian stars โœจ, where it'll be good to gaze at the sky and see its beautiful offerings ๐ŸŽ.

Missing a stage, aren't we? Don't be too hasty, it's coming ๐Ÿค“. For the final challenge: The Northern Lights Marathon, with its 42 km, known to be the coldest โ˜ƒ๏ธ, but also the flattest in the world ๐Ÿ˜ณ. A little feature is that you can choose to participate only in this last stage if you wish! ๐Ÿ˜œ Perfect for those wanting to enjoy the adventure on a smaller scale ๐Ÿค. The last few kilometers end at Univik. It's time to take a deep breath and congratulate everyone for this adventure ๐Ÿ‘.

Northern Lights, snow, trails, everything's here! ๐Ÿ’ This space offers truly unforgettable memories amid nature. Even if you're in one of the country's most remote lands ๐Ÿ˜ณ, you're also in one of the most beautiful ๐Ÿคฉ. The Univik region is a real winter wonderland. Its celestial illuminations provide unique and memorable Arctic landscapes ๐Ÿ’ญ. Aklavik, we've told you, will be your finish line for day 3. There, you'll discover a tiny village, of about 550 inhabitants ๐Ÿงโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Oh yes, neighbors aren't very numerous... Just starting at Fort McPherson, a monument tour will immerse you in the history of the place ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. For a complete immersion, we recommend tasting the "Bannique". Besides, it defines you quite well, as it's also known as the "traveler's bread" ๐Ÿงณ. If you try it with a bit of berry jam, you'll thrill your taste buds with flavors! ๐Ÿซ

Don't wait any longer and become part of this adventure that will light up your year! ๐ŸŽ†

4 reasons to join this race

An Arctic journey ๐Ÿปโ€โ„๏ธ
Indeed, it's not every day you're offered a trip to the Arctic โœˆ๏ธ. This region encompasses the Earth's North Pole and features extraordinary landscapes ๐Ÿช„. Full of rare and impressive flora and fauna, you'll return with stars in your eyes ๐Ÿคฉ.
A premium program ๐Ÿ“‹
A 5-day adventure in such a setting is unmissable โ˜๏ธ. But, of course, it's not for everyone ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. That's why they offer the option to participate only in the marathon for those who wish to. It's a perfect opportunity for families wanting to cross the finish line with their loved ones ๐Ÿ’. Yes, if someone you know is participating in the full format, we're sure they'd be delighted to tackle the final stretch of the challenge with you! ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ
A majestic spectacle ๐ŸŒŒ
As you've guessed, the stars of this journey are the Northern Lights ๐Ÿ”ด. For those unaware, these natural displays are colorful light phenomena โœจ. They are created when particles emitted by the Sun collide with Earth's atmosphere ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Depending on the altitude at which this collision occurs, the color can vary between red and green ๐ŸŸข.
A region worth exploring ๐Ÿ‘€
During your 290 km adventure, you'll have plenty of opportunities to admire what nature is made of โœ…. You'll pass under the great Mount Richardson ๐Ÿ—ป, the historic towns of Univik and Aklavik ๐ŸŒƒ. The latter was once at the heart of Arctic trade, offering you a beautiful historical tour ๐Ÿ“….
