Poland Gravel Race (PGR) is an absolute legend of the Polish bikepacking scene and one of the most demanding ultra marathons on gravel bikes. The event throws riders a formidable challenge: a distance of over 500 kilometers with nearly 10,000 meters of elevation gain 🚴♂️. The route links Bukowina Tatrzańska with historic Przemyśl, and participants ride unsupported, arranging their own accommodation, food, and equipment servicing. It’s an incredible test of character, where the battle with gravity intertwines with admiring Poland’s wildest corners 🌲.
Under the participants’ wheels unfolds a true surface rollercoaster, leading through the spectacular mountain ranges of southern Poland – from Podhale, through Beskid Sądecki, the magical and abandoned Beskid Niski, all the way to the Bieszczady backroads 🏔️. Gravel here mixes with rocky streams, forest singletrack, and murderous asphalt climbs that can really torch your legs. The time limit is 90 hours, which means night riding in the fog, sleeping at bus stops, and battling the whims of the weather are constant elements of this incredible gravel adventure 🌌.
When, after a day (or several) of continuous pedaling, you finally cross the longed-for finish line, Przemyśl will welcome you as a hero and offer ideal conditions for recovery 🏰. The well-earned rest is best started with a leisurely stroll around Przemyśl’s charming market square with a view of the Kazimierz Castle, and that huge calorie deficit can be replenished with iconic local pierogi or a hearty Galician sour rye soup (żurek) 🥟. The best way to toast completing one of the toughest gravel events in the country is with a craft beer from a local brewery, celebrating your success among other exhausted but overjoyed finishers 🍻!
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
