Here we are, the question for 1 Million euros❓
What is an Adret?
A : The sunniest side of a valley.
B : The least sunny side of a valley.
C : The snowiest side of a valley.
D : The answer D.
The answer A? Is that your final answer?
An adret indeed refers to the side benefiting from the longest sun exposure ☀️. Bravo, 1 Million euros, what a candidate! 💸
Now that you know what this word means (you can even show off at the coffee machine ☕️ on Monday morning), why not come and run the Race of the Adrets? Head to the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, in the department of the Loire, to join the village of Chevrières 📍, nestled in the heart of the Monts du Lyonnais 🏔️. Between abundant nature 🍃, typical villages 🏡, castles 🏰, and various paths, you won't regret the trip to this town located a few miles from Saint-Etienne (23 km to be precise) and Lyon (57 km). On the agenda, you will have the choice among 3 trail distances: "The Short" of 5.44 km, "The Medium" of 9.84 km, and finally "The Long" of 20.48 km. The organizers have everything planned, the distances are accessible to all levels 🔝. Whether you are a beginner, a casual runner, or an experienced trail runner, you will surely find a trail to your liking 👟. Moreover, the race takes place in the middle of June, in conjunction with the Music Festival! 🎵 What better than a festive 🎉 atmosphere, enhanced by ideal weather 🌤️ to explore the beauties of the Loire! 😎
Let's dive into the heart of the matter with the course description. The organizers offer you three loops that start and finish in Hameau de La Bruyère, within the Élevages des Adrets, which is a stable that breeds Irish Cob horses 🐎. What an original race setting, isn't it? After an equestrian start (get it? 😂), you'll gallop through bois de la Pacalière or bois de la Chalée 🌳. Be careful not to get lost among all these trees! You'll be on mostly paths, although some paved sections are not out of the question. If you pay attention and have good eyes 👀 (friends with nearsightedness and astigmatism... don't forget your glasses 👓), you might spot the Fontanès Castle 🤭. Between the horses at the start and the castles scattered along the course, you'll feel like you've traveled back to the times of cathedrals knights ⚔️.
Besides a wild and scenic course, the ambiance and activities planned by the organizers will definitely make you fall in love with the event (and the region) 😍. To stay in line with the course's natural 🌱 theme, an area dedicated to local producers is planned! 👨🏻🌾 It's an opportunity for you to discover their creations and products 🍎. For beer 🍺 lovers, a local brewer will also be on site 😁. Besides a dive into the local culture, you'll also have the chance to test your legs again during the musical evening 🕺🏼. So, make sure to brush up on your rock moves... A few days before the music festival, it will be a good warm-up 😬.
So we run. And only when it's over. So we dance! 🎶 After exerting yourself, it's time for comfort, as you're invited to enjoy the delicacies prepared by the organization: charcuterie 🥩, cheese 🧀, or even local specialties 😋. Why not pair these specialties with a wine from the Roanne hills or from Forez 🍷. We're surely in France! 🐓 When it comes to sightseeing, after the race, take advantage of your visit to explore the Gorges of the Loire, it's the best time of the year! Between history and water activities 🏄🏼♂️, you're sure to find something to do along France's longest river 🇫🇷 (without considering the Rhine, which only has a small portion in France). Indeed, we learn something new every day with Finishers 🤓.
Come explore the corners of the Loire in search of its precious local treasures 💎.

The behemoth of the event "The Long", a trail of 20.4 km with 546 mD+ that will take you navigating through the Monts du Lyonnais 🌷.
Right from the village start, you tackle a steady ascent to the south, which takes you to heights of 700 m altitude around the 5th km. Enjoy the view, as the ensuing descent is long and plunges down to the lowest point (about 500 m) at the creek crossing around the 10th km ⚡️.
The rest is a series of tricky little hills up to km 16, before beginning the final climb, constant and demanding, to complete your journey at the heart of Aveizieux 🎢.
"The Average" is the intermediate level trail on Saturday. You might think it's quite flat, but it accumulates 260 mD+ in total, so it can quickly catch you off guard. Be well prepared, it won't be a walk in the park! 🥵
In a balanced format that allows you to taste the best of the local terrain, you set off on the same initial loop as the main course, gradually climbing up to the high point around 2 km 📍. The route then becomes very smooth with a gentle downhill slope until km 3 before tackling another significant hill at km 4 ⚡️.
After a technical descent between 5 km and 7 km, you'll need to conserve energy for the final section climbing back towards the finish. It's a dynamic course where time will fly by 🌲.
Start your engines for "The Short" of 5.4 km and 134 mD+ 💨. For an introduction to trail running or to "push yourself" over a short distance, it's ideal 🌷.
The start is the same as the other distances with an initial climb of 1.5 km to really get your heart rate up 🔥. The route then flattens around km 2 before descending towards the valley of Saint-Héand Road. The finale is a sprint with a slightly but consistently ascending profile for nearly 2 km to reach the excitement of the village center ⭐️.
A concentrate of sensations in less than an hour of running! 🎈
