The event in a few words

Agreed, it's not easy to pronounce ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The Reschenseelauf is a race nestled at the extreme north of Italy, right at the border with Austria. In July, you will run along the shores of Lake Resia, famous for its bell tower standing right in the middle of the water ๐Ÿ•. Intriguing, isn't it? Let us explain! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Lake Resia resembles a typical mountain lake but with a peculiarity: a long silhouette of stone emerging from its waters ๐Ÿž๏ธ. This structure is the bell tower of the village of Curon, submerged in 1950 to create a hydroelectric reservoir โšก๏ธ. The inhabitants had to flee, the bells were removed... yet, it is said that in winter when the lake freezes and silence reigns โ„๏ธ, some still hear the ringing of the bells ๐Ÿ””. Is it the wind? The ghosts of Curon? A mystery... ๐Ÿซข

And while you ponder this mysterious story, embark on an unforgettable sporting adventure: a 15.1 km loop around the lake ๐Ÿ”„. The course, smooth and rolling, is one of the most beautiful in all of Sรผdtirol. With each step, you progress through forests, alpine meadows, and panoramic views ๐ŸŒž. You can catch sight of the majestic peaks of the Ortler and the Gran Zรฉbrรน along the way ๐Ÿ”๏ธ. You will start at sunset, at 9:30 PM at the foot of the bell tower in Resia ๐ŸŒ„. If competition is not your thing, the Just for Fun category offers the same course but in a non-timed version. You can also complete the course in Nordic walking if you prefer to take your time and enjoy the scenery ๐Ÿค—. This event gathers everyone, as the handbikers open the festivities ๐Ÿ’ƒ. The kids are not left out! Every year, more than 500 young champions, aged 8 to 16, set off on courses tailored to their age ๐Ÿ’ช. And surprises await them at the finish ๐Ÿคซ.

Once the finish line is crossed, don't leave right away โœ‹. Lake Resia offers much more than a legendary bell tower. Take a walk around the lake, climb the Monte Di Curon, or discover the hidden secrets of the Saint-Valentin chapel, a few kilometers away. Feeling sporty? Try kayaking, hiking, or windsurfing... This lake is a sports oasis ๐Ÿ˜. If you're more into culture, head to the Reschen Pass and the historic Via Claudia Augusta, a remnant of ancient Rome connecting Venice to Germany. And let's not forget, Italy is also known for its cuisine ๐Ÿคค. Sit down in a local restaurant and indulge: torta di patata, Burtlรชina, Pisarei e fasรด... You won't be disappointed! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

So, are you ready to outdo your rivals at the Reschenseelauf? ๐Ÿ’ฅ
